Today we’d like to introduce you to Nnumba9.
Hi Nnumba9, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Im nnumba9. I was originally born in charlotte, NC, but moved to ga around 8-9 years old. I always felt things deeply and always had these urges to express myself creatively. Growing up you experiment alot with different outlets. Poetry, writing, rapping, etc. digital visuals just so happened to be mine. It started when my freshman year of college when i spent my last dollar on a sony a6000 camera. I had no idea what i going to do with it i just bought it. From there i met alot of like minded people at school who loved music and creativity just as me. I started helping them out with their brand and visuals for their music and now here we are.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not, but smooth roads dont make skilled sailors. Ive been through alot to even get to where im at today. I feel like the hardships, struggles, heartbreaks and setbacks only boosted my creativity and gave my vision a deeper depth for those willing to take a look
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I manage artist creatively and shoot videos and pictures. Some people call me a creative director or a brand architect. I see myself as a visionary. When i hear music i dont just hear it. I feel it, and most importantly i see it as well. The music gets a deeper meaning when there are visuals out that truly capture the sound of what the artist is feeling. Its such a beautiful thing. Most of all im definitely known for the way i view music as a whole. The art is all that matters. Forever and always
What were you like growing up?
I was very outgoing but also super quiet around people i didnt really know. I grew up looking up to 50 cent, kanye, kid cudi, drake. When i started hitting teenage years is when everything changed. I discovered the internet and frank ocean and ever since i been seeing things when i hear music. And not for nothing but objects in the mirror by mac miller is a great song (my favorite lol)
