Daily Inspiration: Meet Unique Lashea

Today we’d like to introduce you to Unique Lashea.

Hi Unique, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my business solely to provide for my daughter and our family. When I got pregnant, I knew that I immediately needed to make sure that my daughter had the things she needed in life. At the time, the most I was able to do was get a job at our local fast food restaurant, and I hated it. I loved the food, but I hated how little I was being paid and how much micro-managing there was. That was my first and last job, and it’s what made me realize that in order to adequately provide what I wanted to give for our family and for Amoura especially, I needed to be my own boss. Soon after my YouTube videos began gaining more views and attention, I started off my clothing line by printing custom T-shirts. I used my YouTube money to buy a T-shirt press and we got to work fulfilling orders for custom-pressed Shirts. That eventually expanded to custom robes, sweatsuits, and slides. After a while, I decided to hang up the press and begin a new journey as the boss of my own complete clothing line. Doing this now makes me so happy. I’ve always loved fashion and the arts, and now I’m able to do what I love while providing for my daughter, and that’s what matters most to me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, it hasn’t been smooth sailing completely. While I have had major support from my family and new friends, I am the sole owner of my brand. I am also a young mother and a creator. I constantly have to balance coming up with new, interesting content every week with taking care of my child, being there for family and friends, and running Lashea Ave from top to bottom. I barely have any time for myself and if I spend too much time on one thing, well then I can get behind in something else. My child always comes first. At the same time, I do have other important tasks. My life is like a ride at six-flags 24/7.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an actress, a YouTube creator, and an influencer. While I am most known for my YT channel, I love acting and fashion. I’ve been acting since I was in elementary school, actually! I am proud of the fact that I am skilled at doing all of these things, and when I really put my mind to something, I absolutely eat. Other than being a young mom, I believe what sets me apart from others is my genuine support system and passion. I don’t feel like I’m forced to do these things by anyone. If I’m not enjoying something, I have people by my side that wants to see me do well and I’m that includes my followers/fans. When I have such a healthy space, it allows me to be the best at what I do.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’m definitely more of a dare-devil. I love “living life on the wild side”. I don’t think there’s any other way to live than taking risks. How are you going to advance and upgrade if you don’t try and see what’s out there? There’s always a chance of rejection and someone saying no, but you just have to keep trying. If I feel like doors are closing on me, then I’ll start building a new one myself. I’d never let someone else keep me complacent.
