Daily Inspiration: Meet Venisha Clarke

Today we’d like to introduce you to Venisha Clarke.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
From a young age, creativity has always been a part of me. My background in hairstyling and caregiving naturally shaped who I am today! I’ve always had a passion for helping people, paying attention to detail, and creating experiences that make others feel special. Whether in my work or personal life, I’ve always found joy in bringing people’s vision to life and smile on their faces!

I started out decorating for my daughters’ birthday parties, but everything shifted when I designed my niece’s baby shower. That moment became a turning point for me. Seeing what I created, and the way my family and friends responded made me realize this was more than just something I enjoyed. They encouraged me to take my talent seriously and turn it into something bigger.

When the pandemic happened, I saw it as an opportunity to invest in myself and officially launch my business! I knew I wanted to attract a luxury clientele, so I made the decision to sharpen my skills and took a one-on-one class with one of the top balloon artists in Atlanta.

After completing my training, I was given the opportunity to work with him full-time. I spent two years gaining hands-on experience and developing my skills, especially in large-scale and luxury events.

When he later made the decision to return to Mexico to be with his family, the company transitioned under new ownership, and I stayed on. During that time, I continued creating designs for high-end events and large installations.

However, that season came with challenges. I found myself in a position where my work wasnt being recognized, and I wasn’t given the opportunity to fully showcase this my creativity or build my brand.

That experience became a turning point for me. I realized, I didn’t want to remain a secret hidden talent. I wanted to step forward and build something that truly reflected my vision, my work, and my worth!

Over the past year, I’ve been committed to growing my business, gaining exposure, and stepping confidently into the work that I know I’m capable of doing!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Unfortunately, no it has not been a smooth road! One of the biggest challenges I faced was not being recognized for my work and not having the opportunity to showcase my creativity. I was contributing, and I was able to fully express my ideas, but I couldn’t tell anyone.

Another challenge has been building a business while managing multiple responsibilities. Being hands-on in every aspect, from design, to execution, marketing, requires discipline, consistency, and a strong mindset.

I’m learning that growth doesn’t happen overnight, and sometimes the hardest seasons are the ones that shape you the most!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What I do is create custom balloon designs and event setups, but for me it’s deeper than just decorating. I really focus on creating moments and experiences that make people feel special. I pay attention to the little details and take the time to understand what my clients actually want, so when they walk into their event, it feels like them.

I would say I specialize in elevated, clean designs and larger installations. I love transforming a space and making it feel completely different from what it was before.

What I’m most proud of is my journey. I didn’t start out thinking this would become a business. I was just decorating for my kids and family, and over time I realized this was something I was truly passionate about. I took a chance on myself, invested in learning, and really worked to grow my skills. Being able to go from that to creating high-end setups and creating generational wealth for my family is something I’m grateful and proud of!

What sets me apart is how personal this is for me. I care about my work, but I also care about the people I’m creating for. So it’s not just about the money for me. We are also one-stop shop for clients. We provide a full experience from balloon installations, to custom treats, centerpieces, floral arrangements, we also decorate Christmas trees! We will handle all vendors for your event, so all you have to do is show up! When I design, it’s not just about making something look good, it’s about creating an experience that means something to them also.

I’m also big on growth. I’m always trying to learn more, do better, and push my creativity so I can keep elevating what I offer.

At the end of the day, I just love being able to take someone’s vision and bring it to life in a way that they’ll never forget.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is doing my grandma’s hair. I remember sitting with her, taking my time, and really enjoying the process of making her look and feel good. It wasn’t just about styling her hair—it was about the time we spent together, the conversations, and the way it made her smile. She was also hair stylist so I wanted to be just like her.
