Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Tunstall.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It was my passion to become an entrepreneur. I wanted to help people, however I didn’t know in what areas I wanted to help. At first, I opened a boutique and through the course of four years, I realized that wasn’t it. I had a desire of skincare but thought I wouldn’t be able to get started. I was now searching for a name. D’JJA Skincare is derived from four boys. For two years, I contemplated in what products I wanted to offer and how would it affect my customer-family. Yes, my customers are family. I said what better way of starting within my household. I started at first making Shea butter for my kids who suffer my really dry skin store-bought lotions did not help at all. So, after three weeks of using solely my products, I saw changed. I then ventured out to friends and family and they started asking for more. Then I moved on to my potential customer/family they loved it. Then I decided to add facial washes, serums and toners to my skincare line which these are natural and mainly for environmentally stressed skin. Our skin is with us forever so we need to do all we can to protect. All of our products are Vegan and Cruelty Free.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has been bumpy as of course being one person working the business two jobs and a single parent. I have to make sure that each time the best ingredients are being used. There are days I am tired and want to quit, but I keep going because I love what I do. So, I pray each day and I remain encouraged and inspired.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently work at a hospital has a patient access specialist. I enjoy helping people. I am compassionate about what I do. Even though I am my directly providing care. I know when that person sits in my chair, I talk to them and ask them how’s their day. Just that alone makes their day and mines as well.
What sets me apart from others is I am an active listener; I pay close attention to what my potential customer or current needs and wants are when it comes to skincare. I am very active with my customers. I’m not just selling products. I’m promoting a brand that will be a household name.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Wow! Yes, I have learned to cherish each moment with family and friends and DO WHAT YOU LOVE. Putting family first. If your energy is being interrupted in a negative way, keep it pushing. Life is too short.
