Exploring Life & Business with Angel Sauer of Angel’s Barbershop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Sauer.

Hi Angel, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey in the beauty industry at just 16 years old in Brazil, where I discovered a deep passion for making people feel good about themselves. Over time, that passion led me to specialize in men’s grooming—something about the precision, artistry, and transformation really spoke to me.

After moving to the U.S., I knew I wanted to keep growing in this field. I enrolled at Chattahoochee Technical College and earned my Master Cosmetology license in 2020. It was a challenging time, starting fresh in a new country, but I was determined to build something of my own.

Fast forward to today, I’m the proud owner of Angel’s Barbershop in Roswell, Georgia. I’ve created a space that reflects my journey—welcoming, detail-driven, and rooted in authenticity. My shop isn’t just a place to get a haircut; it’s a space where people feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Every client that sits in my chair becomes part of my story, and I feel honored to be part of theirs too.

It’s been a road full of reinvention, hard work, and learning—but every step has brought me closer to living out my purpose with pride.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Moving to a new country alone meant starting completely from scratch—no family, no support system, and no guarantees. I had to navigate a new language, culture, and system while trying to rebuild my career from the ground up.

Opening my own shop came with its own set of challenges—from getting licensed, handling business paperwork, learning local regulations, and finding the right location, to building trust in a community that didn’t know me yet. I’ve had to work incredibly hard to prove myself—not just as a barber, but as a professional, a business owner, and a woman in a very male-dominated industry.

There were many moments where I questioned if I was doing the right thing, especially when money was tight or things felt overwhelming. But what kept me going was the passion I have for my craft and the connection I build with each client. I believe every challenge helped shape me into the strong, grounded person I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m a Master Cosmetologist and full-time barber, and the proud owner of Angel’s Barbershop in Roswell, Georgia. I specialize in men’s grooming—everything from precision fades and classic cuts to beard sculpting and hot towel straight razor shaves. I work with all hair types and textures, and I’m known for my consistency, attention to detail, and the calm, welcoming experience I offer in my chair.

What I’m most proud of is building something from the ground up—a business that reflects who I am and the values I believe in. My shop isn’t just about haircuts. It’s about connection, care, and creating a space where people feel seen, respected, and confident when they leave.

What sets me apart is the combination of technical skill, artistic eye, and the personal energy I bring to each appointment. I don’t rush through services—I listen, I focus, and I tailor each cut to the person in front of me. My background in both cosmetology and barbering gives me a unique edge, and my clients know they’re in good hands every time.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is making people feel good about themselves. There’s something powerful about watching someone walk out of my chair with more confidence than they walked in with—that moment when they look in the mirror and smile. That’s everything to me.

I also find a lot of happiness in creating a space where people can relax, be themselves, and feel at ease. Whether it’s through a good conversation, a clean cut, or just a calm vibe in the shop—those everyday connections bring me real joy.

Outside of work, I’m happiest when I’m doing something creative or hands-on—like restoring vintage furniture or working on DIY projects. It’s therapeutic for me, and it gives me the same sense of pride and purpose that I get from barbering.
