Exploring Life & Business with Brandon Terrell of Venice Music

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Terrell. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Brandon “Reddpush” Terrell is the Senior Director of A&R at one of the newest distribution companies out right now – Venice  Music. He has been a staple of the Atlanta music scene for the past fifteen years.  He made his initial mark as a party promoter and with impeccable relationships with artists, DJs, music executives and labels- he parlayed that into a successful career in music.  He is responsible for some of the strongest marketing campaigns the country has seen.  Reddpush has his finger on the pulse of the music industry and continues to make his mark by recruiting and nurturing exemplary careers for artists at Venice.  He’s worked with Future, Rich Home Quan, Waka Flocka, KCamp, DJ Spinall and Money Mu to name a few.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but I can honestly say it’s all been worth it. It was a task getting folks to understand and believe in my vision for myself and for others, but I stuck with it and never waivered.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Venice Music?
Venice Music is a new and innovative distribution company owned by music legend Troy Carter. I head up the A&R department and am charged with bringing in new talent and getting them the resources they need to help usher them to success.

I love an underdog story – so I don’t count anyone out. I meet people where they are at – utilize what I know – and take them toward the success they desire. Resistance is a natural part of working toward a goal – but I was made for it.

What are your plans for the future?
I eventually want to own my own record label. I am enjoying working and learning from the industry powerhouses I am surrounded by. I cannot thank them enough for their tutelage and guidance.
