Exploring Life & Business with Cherylyn Howard of Brows by Cherylyn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cherylyn Howard.

Hi Cherylyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve spent over 26 years in the aesthetics industry, including 16 years as a Master CoolSculpting specialist. My path into permanent makeup became personal when two of my older sisters were diagnosed with breast cancer. That experience led me to specialize in areola repigmentation—a service that’s about so much more than appearance. For many survivors, it’s an important step in emotional healing and feeling like themselves again. Being part of that journey is something I truly value.

In addition to areola repigmentation, I also offer powder brows, creating soft, natural-looking definition tailored to each client. Whether it’s restorative or cosmetic, my goal is always the same: results that feel authentic, balanced, and beautifully you.

My own journey has grown alongside my career. For many years, I was a single mom, working hard to build a life and career while raising my daughter, Olivia. That chapter shaped my resilience and drive. Later, I met my husband, Chris, and we’ve now been married for almost eight years. Together with our kids, Olivia and Iggy, they are my biggest support system and constant inspiration.

Helping others has always been at the heart of what I do, and that comes from my dad. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back for anyone. When he passed, he left me a small gift that helped me complete my education—one last act of generosity that continues to impact my life and work. My Mom had a career in Nursing with an unmatched bedside manner that carried over into her love for me. I carry that with me every day, and I strive to honor them by serving others with care, compassion, and purpose.

Outside of work, I love to dance and do strength training—it’s how I recharge and get my ya ya’s out!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In 2014, my daughter Olivia—who was just four at the time—and I became very sick from mold exposure in a rental home, something we didn’t even know we were being exposed to at the time. It was an incredibly difficult season filled with surgeries, PICC lines, and endless testing. Just two weeks before Christmas, we lost our home and everything in it.

Through it all, I stayed focused on being a strong parent and getting us through. Thankfully, we came out the other side with our health. It was one of the hardest chapters of my life, but it made us stronger and deepened my appreciation for resilience, healing, and what really matters.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Brows by Cherylyn, my work is deeply personal—especially when it comes to areola repigmentation. For both my clients and me, it’s about more than restoring pigment; it’s about bringing back balance, shape, and a sense of wholeness. The healing that happens goes far beyond the surface.

I also offer powder brows through my Luxe Brow Package, which includes a detailed consultation, your initial treatment, and a perfecting touch-up at 6–8 weeks.

With over two decades in aesthetics, I’ve developed a trained eye for detail and symmetry, allowing me to truly customize each service and exceed expectations.

The goal is simple: leave you looking like the best version of yourself: Beautiful. Natural. You.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
What I love—and what I believe will continue—is the shift toward softer, more natural results. Clients are moving away from anything harsh or overly done, and instead want enhancements that look like them, just more refined. Techniques are becoming more advanced and less invasive, allowing for beautiful, subtle outcomes that age really well over time .

I also see continued growth in the paramedical side of the industry, like areola repigmentation and scar camouflage. There’s a deeper understanding now that this work isn’t just cosmetic—it’s emotional healing too, and that demand will only grow.

Moving with intention!
