Exploring Life & Business with Jenny Fisher

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Fisher.

Hi Jenny, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a full-time working mother; I represent Atlanta Dermatopathology as a sales rep. I’ve always been in love with fitness and athletics; I was a personal trainer during college at NC State. After graduation and getting married to my college sweetheart, I started my sales career but continued to develop my unique training method by training myself! Life then blessed me with two little boys, now 4 and 7, so my training style transitioned into super-efficient, athletic-based fitness.

Throughout my 20s and 30s, my friends knew me as a fitness lover with knowledge in different fitness disciplines and nutrition, so naturally, they would ask me questions. Eventually, I decided to create an Instagram and Facebook page to share 15-minute at-home workouts for busy moms and other women! Since that decision three years ago, I’ve developed a community of over 100k women and men on Instagram, FB, TikTok, and YouTube. Although I still absolutely love my sales job, I started training virtually during the pandemic to help those that couldn’t access the gym. I now own my own iPhone and Android app called Get Salty by Jenny Fisher, where we train to develop our inner athlete by focusing on strength, agility, and mobility!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road for me is never smooth; it is extremely busy with many obstacles. The struggles that I deal with aren’t unique to me; they are every mom and every working woman’s struggles. There are always things to do, kids to develop and discipline all while loving and supporting, there are husbands to support as they support you, there are side projects to fulfill, there are pandemics to navigate, there are social and political stressors, there are myriad tiny/huge, but unexpected tasks and duties that mothers have to conquer every single day. And we just do it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
During quarantine, I realized that I had a gift for connecting with women virtually while providing fitness training. I was featured in a national women’s health magazine right as quarantine hit and they asked if I could train their Instagram followers since so many couldn’t work out at a gym. As they had tons of other trainers on their page, I realized that my viewership and engagement were double that of the next most viewed trainer; I would train about 8-12k viewers with almost every session.

The feedback that I received was that the style of workout was very effective and efficient, but even more importantly was the way I coached and motivated and connected to every woman of every fitness level watching. I have a very little verbal filter so I come across as silly but extremely real and relatable. And I empathize with both those new to fitness and those trying to challenge themselves with every movement. I try to help motivate by giving these women a connection with their bodies to the movement. Stop checking a chore off your list and start connecting to your training.

What’s next?
I am one that has aspirations, but I believe that God will let me know what my purpose is as the days unfold. So I just go with the flow, keeping my drive up, my creativity flowing, and my mind open. So, for now, I will continue thriving in my sales business while I continue to change lives and athletic abilities through my app. So far, my app has shifted and developed into a very effective, accountability-driven platform and I hope to continue creating new challenges for my clients!
