Today we’d like to introduce you to King Delph.
Hi King , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
⸻
My name is King Delph. I’m originally from New York City, and I moved to North Carolina during college. That’s where my entrepreneurial journey really began. I opened my first restaurant in Raleigh, North Carolina — a bar and grill called Smoking Grooves Bar & Grill. It was my first real leap into combining my passions for food, culture, and community.
After closing that chapter, I took my talents to Atlanta, Georgia. I saw Atlanta as a city full of opportunity, especially for a young Black entrepreneur with big dreams in both food and music. Food and music have always been my passion — they’re universal languages that bring people together — and that passion pushed me to keep evolving.
Today, that evolution has led me to create my food and travel show, “Yo Son, You Taste This.” Through the show, I travel the world highlighting unique restaurants and showcasing signature dishes that represent culture, creativity, and flavor. I don’t just review food — I tell stories through it.
This year, we’re expanding even bigger with food tours in Los Angeles, heading back to my hometown of New York City, and traveling internationally to places like the Philippines and Saint Kitts.
My vision is to build Yo Son, You Taste This into a globally recognized brand — a trusted resource for anyone traveling to a new city who wants to know exactly where to find great food and authentic experiences.
This is just the beginning
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth, but every challenge has shaped who I am today. I’ve taken some hard losses along the way — from having to close my first restaurant in Raleigh to later closing my restaurant in Atlanta, Bass and Treble Café. Those moments were tough, but they taught me lessons I couldn’t have learned any other way.
I’ve dealt with bad business partnerships, made decisions I wish I could redo, and experienced what it’s like to run short on working capital. As an entrepreneur, those are real struggles that don’t get talked about enough. But each setback forced me to grow, sharpen my instincts, and become more disciplined in business.
The road has been rough, no doubt. But the experience has been magnificent because it prepared me for where I am now. It helped me become a stronger leader, a smarter businessman, and the best version of myself. Every failure was really training for the role I’m stepping into today — building my brand, expanding my platform, and moving forward with more knowledge, resilience, and purpose than ever before
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
RRMG stands for Robson Restaurant Music Group, and it’s the umbrella company that brings together everything I do — restaurant consulting, menu development, media, and music production. At the core, I specialize in helping restaurants and food brands elevate their concepts, create standout menus, and build experiences that connect with culture. Food and music have always been my foundation, and RRMG is where those worlds meet.
Through RRMG, I provide restaurant consulting, brand development, and creative direction for food businesses, while also producing original content and music. I’m the creator and host of two shows: “Yo Son, You Taste This,” a food and travel show where I explore unique restaurants and signature dishes around the world, and “Yo Son, You See This,” which highlights culture, music, and lifestyle. These shows allow me to spotlight businesses, tell authentic stories, and connect audiences to great food and experiences globally.
I’ve been an artist and producer for over 30 years, touring the East Coast and producing hip-hop and R&B throughout my career. Music is still a major part of what I do. I recently released a new artist, BK Marie Blu, whose album The BLUprint is now available on all streaming platforms. I also have two upcoming projects: my R&B album “Late Nights at Room 230” and a hip-hop album titled “Bio-Pulse.” Hip-hop has always been my passion, and I continue to create while building my media and food brands.
What sets me apart is my ability to merge food, music, culture, and storytelling into one brand. I’m not just consulting restaurants or reviewing food — I’m creating platforms that help businesses get exposure while entertaining and informing audiences. I understand the creative side and the business side, and I bring real-world experience from both success and failure, which allows me to guide others authentically.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building RRMG into a multi-layered platform that connects hospitality, media, and music. I’m also proud of the growth of “Yo Son, You Taste This,” which is expanding into national and international food tours and is on track to become one of the most recognized food-culture shows on YouTube and eventually streaming platforms like Roku.
What I want readers to know is that my brand is about experience, authenticity, and elevation. Whether it’s consulting for a restaurant, producing music, or showcasing a hidden gem on my show, the goal is always the same: highlight culture, create opportunity, and put people onto something great. And we’re just getting started.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I pull inspiration from a mix of real-life experience and a few key resources that keep me sharp. I’m big on YouTube for learning — whether it’s restaurant business tips, food content, or music production techniques. I also pay attention to podcasts and interviews with entrepreneurs and creatives because hearing other people’s journeys keeps me motivated and focused.
Music has always been a daily resource for me, both as inspiration and as a way to stay creative. I also learn a lot from being out in the field — traveling, trying new restaurants, and studying different business models firsthand. Experience has been my greatest teacher, but I stay open to learning from any platform that helps me grow creatively and as an entrepreneur.
