Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Reese.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have been involved in group fitness for over 20 years. Started with teaching aerobics, weight training classes, and triathlons. After several injuries, I found myself in pain. Frustrated – because even though I was “fit”, my body was always hurting. I turned to yoga and found strength and healing for my injuries. Yoga not only helped me feel better physically, but yoga also taught me the importance of balance, both literally and figuratively. I owned breatheYOGA with my mom for ten years.
I first met my husband John Busing, owner of MOVE Sports Performance while collaborating together with athletes. I provided support to athletes in their recovery, sharing my expertise in yoga, breath work, and rolling methods to help improve athletic performance. At the same time, John was empowering athletes to move better by improving their speed, strength, and power.
Immediately we knew that in order to achieve the best results, it was necessary to combine our passions together, intersecting grace with grit. This was the genesis for MOVE+breathe, and together, our mission is to share our passion for inspiring others to move well, breathe well, live well, and perform their best.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are always bumps in the road, but we have been incredibly blessed. We have the most amazing community of members who make coming to work so amazing!!
We’ve been impressed with Move+breathe, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
MOVE+breathe is your ultimate accountability partner. A unique combination of fitness, yoga, nutrition, and community. We have fun, encourage each other, and work to be better every day.
Our mission at MOVE+breathe is to inspire you to move better, breathe better and perform better.
We have been voted the best yoga studio in South Forsyth for the last eight years.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success comes in the form of feeling the very best that you can possibly feel. I measure and define success by how many lives we can positively impact. When a clients tell me a success story of how they no longer have to take blood pressure medicine they feel so great that they can show up better for their families. For me, my client’s success brings me the MOST joy!
