Ninotchka , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After 16 successful years in the cellular industry as an employee, in 2001 I transitioned into entrepreneurship by launching my own Authorized Cellular Agency in middle Georgia. In 2007, I relocated my business to the Atlanta area, continuing to build and serve a growing client base.

In March 2009, during a presentation to a financial services agency, I was introduced to the profound impact life insurance can have on families. The message resonated deeply. I earned my license in Life Insurance and began working with this financial agency, gaining valuable experience in their call center environment.

Within nine months, I launched my own Life Insurance Agency.

Since then, I have expanded my portfolio to include multiple forms of life insurance as well as annuities. Today, I am licensed in over 10 states and work independently on behalf of my clients — not the insurance companies. My role is to shop highly rated carriers, compare options, and provide informed recommendations tailored to each individual’s needs.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the challenges I face is helping clients navigate misinformation they may have picked up from social media, advertisements, or well-meaning friends. There is a great deal of confusion around how life insurance actually works — especially when it comes to cost, qualifications, and policy types. I see it as my responsibility to slow the process down, educate clearly, and replace assumptions with facts.

Another challenge is visibility. Large insurance companies have significant advertising budgets, while I operate as an independent agent. I don’t rely on mass marketing — I rely on relationships, referrals, and trust. That means I have to work harder to earn attention, but it also means my clients receive personalized service instead of a sales pitch.

Ultimately, I enjoy what I do. I appreciate taking the time to provide clarity and helping individuals make informed decisions that protect their families and financial futures. That part makes the challenges worthwhile.
