Quianna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It started in 2018 with me braiding clients’ hair in my living room. One day I was looking at hair tutorials on YouTube and ran across a video of a youtuber making a lace closure braided wig. At the time it was something that I had never seen before so I was thinking to myself like “Oh ok, that’s new and cute. I can do that but better”. I started doing my research to see if it would be a profitable investment so I started asking family, friends, and clients if they would wear a braided wig and every answer was YES. Before I found my vendors I was going to the beauty supply stores to buy my supplies and it was kind of costly but I was so eager to put it out there. The first braided wig i made was a test but when I posted it on my social media, it sold in a few hours and the rest is history.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been an easy road at all but I knew it wasn’t going to be. Of course, we want the overnight success but even that doesn’t happen overnight.

My struggles were self doubt, trying to do everything alone, not asking for help, and finding customers. My problem now is growing my social media following and increasing my brand awareness.

Quianna Lashae Collection specializes in handmade custom braided lace wigs. We offer natural looking lace closures, frontals, and full lace wigs.

There are a variety of braid styles and colors to choose from. From knotless braids to butterfly locs. I am most proud of the smiles and the feedback that I receive when my customers’ wigs are installed. Hair is my passion and I love making people feel beautiful and confident. It’s a blessing to have the skills to make braided wigs as it is the perfect option if you’re suffering from alopecia, thinning edges, hair loss or if you’re someone that don’t like sitting for hours getting braids.

What sets my business apart from others is my ability to cater and serve. I communicate to the best of my ability being that our wigs are handmade and can be customized to the customer liking. Fast turn around time if the unit is not in stock and fast shipping. I make sure my customers are satisfied every step of the way.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is my mom teaching me how to braid hair when I was around 9 years old. She was plaiting my little sister’s hair and asked her can I try. I remember I couldn’t get my fingers right but once I finally did, I was so proud as if I had completed a task. I went to get my My Size Barbie doll and started practicing next to my mom. Once I got the hang of it, I started braiding family, friends, and neighbors hair for a little of nothing just to maximize my craft.
