Today we’d like to introduce you to Sanchez Brown.
Sanchez, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am 39 years old. Professionally I started taking photos a year ago but really, I have been taking photos for years. I used to love to take photos for my friends because I just had an eye for it. Wherever we went, whenever we went out, people were always asking me to take their picture. Once I gave them their phones back, they would be like, wow, you did that with my phone. I would laugh and say yes, it’s easy. My journey wasn’t very hard. I decided to start taking pictures professionally about a year and a half ago but I needed my own camera first. I was working at Marta at this time. Once I got my camera and was able to get some pretty decent work I had a talk with my family about quitting my job. Everyone gave me their opinion but I decided to listen to my heart. So I quit my job. It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be but I kept pushing. Sometimes I laugh at myself because I look at my work from a year ago till now. You can see my improvement but I laugh at how much knowledge I didn’t have versus now. I love my work. Once I get to going, you have to literally tell me to stop. Because when I am shooting my main focus is to get that money shot.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No real obstacles yet other than buying equipment and coming up with the money for all of it.

VS1ATL is a new and upcoming photography business. In less than a year, I have managed to turn a dream into reality. I started out doing landscape photography and have now become a celebrity photographer. I have photographed celebrities such as Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and I am now Asian Doll’s personal photographer. During my free time I am always on the hunt for models for freelance photography. I occasionally book clients for family photos, brand marketing, Boudoir, and street photography. What sets me apart from others is that I enjoy viewing life through my lens and so I don’t limit myself to being one type of photographer. VS1ATL offers all types of photography. I want people to see my brand and know that I don’t just capture memories, I capture moments.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like most about our city is that it is forever changing and expanding. It’s the new Hollywood. Everyone hears Atlanta and thinks of a better life. What I dislike about Atlanta is there is no beach. If Atlanta had a beach, there would be nothing to dislike.
