Exploring Life & Business with Sarah Hoover of Mulberry Media Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Hoover.

Hi Sarah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I graduated college in May of 2020 when the world was turned upside down. Just a few months prior, I had my dream job secured, I was planning on moving out of the state, and I thought I had my life planned out. When the pandemic hit and lingered, I lost everything I had planned. I knew I needed to pivot and figure out where to go from there. I didn’t know much as a recent college graduate but I knew three things: I love social media, I have a passion for helping small businesses, and I needed a job desperately. Out of all of this, Mulberry Media Consulting was born in July 2020. I continued to work my full-time college job and moved to a traditional 9-5 setting later in the year. Today, I still work my 9-5 and hustle hard on the side to keep MMC thriving.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. Nothing in life worth working for is easy and I’ve learned that the hard way. I’ve had many people come in and out of my life that told me I wouldn’t be able to accomplish my dreams. Throughout college, I started to believe them but it ultimately only added fuel to the fire. When the pandemic took everything I thought I wanted in life, I took the time to discover myself, remove those roadblocks, and do what I’m passionate about. I wake up everyday thankful for the journey it’s been because I wouldn’t have the drive I do today if it weren’t for the challenges I’ve faced.

As you know, we’re big fans of Mulberry Media Consulting. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Mulberry Media Consulting is a digital marketing firm. We specialize in social media management and graphic design. We manage Facebook and Instagram accounts and focus on conversions for small businesses. It makes our hearts happy to see a client win through the work we put into their social media. Industries we’ve worked within the past include interior designers, restaurants, non-profits, landscaping, and the wedding industry.

In October of 2020, I realized there was a need MMC wasn’t fulfilling for small businesses. This leads me to bring on a graphic designer to create custom logos and rebrands. We’ve created logos for almost every industry you can think of- boutiques, landscapers, lactation consultants, writing services, beauty, non-profits… and the list goes on. In addition to this, we now offer bridal invitation suite designs. Both my business partner and myself, LOVE and we enjoy getting to play a part in a couple’s special day.

What’s next?
We’ve got some big plans for the future but we have to keep some of them a surprise. 😉 One goal of mine is for my graphic designer to be able to work full-time for MMC and not have to worry about going back to a traditional 9-5 job. My dream is for MMC to be big enough that we can have a whole team of superwomen that are tired of their 9-5 and looking for a team of creatives to work with.
