Today we’d like to introduce you to Vicky Yankomut.

Hi Vicky, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We met in Seattle and truly enjoyed all of the Boba tea shops there. Upon moving back to Atlanta, we kick around the idea of opening our own Boba tea shop. But it wasn’t until we were in Thailand and was shown around to a couple of boba tea/ dessert shops were it hit us and we decided to get serious about it. After investigating/ researching the feasibility of doing this in Marietta and deciding on what products to focus on. We finally made the decision to create our Nom Station brand. We originally wanted to offer Coffee but there was a coffee shop in the plaza where we leased our shop. After a year and a half, we were able to acquire the coffee shop and merge both stores together and so far it’s been a great marriage. Soon after we were featured on Fox 5 Good Day Atlanta and a couple of months later we were awarded the opportunity to open a second location at Emory University at Cox Hall. We are looking to bring the joy of excellent Boba to as many Atlantans as possible.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As soon as we signed the lease Covid hit which pushed us back 9 months. It ended up being a blessing because it allowed us to perfect the products so we were ready when we were finally able to open. Change and flexibility is at the core of everything we do. It has allowed us to push through supply chain issues and price increases with very minimal price increases which is one of our core values. We serve the highest quality treats at family-friendly prices because that’s what we are a family.

As you know, we’re big fans of Nom Station and Perk Coffee. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a Family, Veteran and Woman owned Boba Tea, Coffee, Smoothies, Sandwich and treat café. Being a family, we understand budgetary constraints most families are under and therefore we cater to our friends/clients’ needs with excellent treats at family-friendly prices. We are known for the most authentic Thai Teas but we offer an excellent variety of treats from Roll Ice Cream to Waffles to a couple of amazing Cuban sandwiches and do not miss out of our incredible breakfast sandwiches.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Brian: I’m a lifelong Atlanta Falcons fan and I remember going to Atlanta Fulton Co stadium on a cold winter’s day to see a game with my Dad.

Vicky: I was raised and grew up in Thailand. When I was a kid, my parents didn’t really allow me to drink or any sweets. Once I moved to Seattle by myself, I was able to explore so many things including Boba tea. Since then, I fell in love with boba tea.
