Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Kirkland.
Hi Amanda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my career in communications and marketing as my full-time job. I was getting my nails done and had my laptop with me, finishing up a marketing campaign. The owner asked me what I was working on so I showed her my work. She was in love and asked me if I could start marketing for her business. Another lady overheard the conversation and wanted to sign up with me too. Just like that, I had my first two clients.
God has really led me with my business and I am so blessed with the talents he has given me. All my clients are really God-sent. I haven’t spent much on advertisements at all.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The best thing in life is to learn from everything you do in business. The struggles make for excellent learning experiences. I think one struggle I had was thinking every client is the perfect fit for your services. That is not always the case because you have to have similar values and a respect for one another. One tip of advice is to vet and interview potential clients with a discovery call.
