Hidden Gems: Meet Antoinette Daniels of Studio A-D Projects

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antoinette Daniels.

Hi Antoinette, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my career under challenging circumstances, having moved from my rural hometown in Georgia to a New England city that was culturally unfamiliar to me. My interior design training started at a junior college in Brookline, Massachusetts, and though I eventually returned to the South, my time in Boston was formative—it piqued my interest in modern design.

After several years of college in Atlanta, I graduated while raising my son. During that time, I worked for furniture retailers specializing in modern and contemporary design, eventually joining a company focused on Italian design. The designer pieces I worked with were both functional and collectible—often the kind you’d see in museums. That experience deeply influenced my own design sensibility and became the foundation of my interior design studio.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My life, like most, has been shaped by unexpected turns rather than a smooth path. In my early twenties, my mother gently reminded me that life would not unfold as perfectly as I imagined. She was right. There is no straight road—only curves, hurdles, and moments that demand resilience. By 25, I was a single mother determined to finish my degree despite the demands of parenting.

Through every challenge, I held tightly to my passion for design. I went on to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, driven not just by ambition, but by purpose. Without traditional internship experience, breaking into established firms proved difficult. Yet through renovation projects and hands-on work, I discovered something more valuable—confidence in my ability and the courage to build my own studio.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I started Studio A-D Projects to help clients solve problems and challenges in their spaces. I aim to assist clients in building their lives with beauty, style, and function in very livable modernist spaces. I design environments that reflect their highest aspirations while thoughtfully resolving the constraints of their built spaces. Through intentional spatial planning, timeless and durable furnishings, and artful curation, each project balances luxury with livability. What sets my studio apart from other studios is that I also believe in the restorative power of nature—by integrating organic elements that reduce stress, support well-being, and create a sense of harmony between the interior and the natural world.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see big changes coming in the future of interiors. Especially with Ai. I see our studio practice faster since we will be able spend less time drawing, selecting materials, and furnishing. That process will be much faster.
