Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebonee Benson
Hi Ebonee, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you taking the time to speak with me! I’m Ebonee Benson, a Floral and Event Designer born and raised in Alabama, currently living in Atlanta. For 11 years I was in Public Relations.
A little over a year prior to the COVID shutdown, I was craving a change in my career. There wasn’t anything specifically wrong with the industry I was in before but I felt an urge to do something different. During the shut down, I explored several interests and hobbies. When the world opened back up, I held onto a few of them. I continued to immerse myself in the world of flowers. In December of 2021, I took a leap of faith, completely walking away from my old career to pursue floral design. I started as a freelancer working with other, more established florists. Within 6 months, I was freelancing frequently and booked my first solo event in June of 2022. It was a cute, small gathering that I was recommended for by a good friend and I was beyond grateful. From there, business just began to explode and has maintained consistent momentum.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting over was tough in the beginning. It was a completely new industry, I knew nothing except what had been self taught, I had no clue what would come of it but one thing I did know is that I was committed to finding out what I was being urged towards. I soon found out that it wasn’t just a career, I was being urged toward purpose. With flowers I have found a purpose. Along the way, I’ve had mind blowing experiences and connected with some truly amazing individuals in and out of the industry who have been impactful in helping me grow as a woman and florist. The selfless support as I expand my business has been one of the things I’m most grateful for.

Ebonee Benson Designs is a boutique event design studio. We specialize in designing and producing exquisite floral experiences and event decor for weddings, special occasions, corporate events, and brand activations. A small but impactful team of artisans, concept designers, and logistical experts. The thing that sets us apart from other companies, is also what we are most proud of; our commitment to family. As a family operated small business, we believe in the concept of working as a family. Whether an EBD client, team member, or fellow vendor working together with compassion, respect, and a united mission to produce a memorable event and a priceless experience is a win for everyone involved.

I love that there is a lane for everyone here. No matter what it is a person decides to pursue, there is a community that will support them and uplift them.
