Hidden Gems: Meet Emma of At Heart Yoga LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma.

Hi Emma, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I discovered yoga for my own healing and mental health approximately 13 yrs ago and I decided approximately 3 years ago to change my career and become a yoga teacher. This is where At Heart Yoga LLC was born. I felt the changes within my body, mind, spirit and my life, and knew I was onto something.

I pride myself on having an open heart, hence my business name. Sharing kindness, sharing compassion and regulating techniques to suit my clients are my priorities. I literally teach everywhere I can to whomever I can. Whether it’s a 55 and up community in Canton, a yoga studio in East Cobb, a sub division clubhouse in Kennesaw, or a corporate office in Atlanta— I meet people where they are. I am determined to let people know that yoga is for everyone.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has truly been a, “when the student is ready, the teacher will come” journey to date.
Everything is working out exactly as it is meant to and at the right time.

I wouldn’t describe the road as either smooth or rough. Rather, I have put in the work and put myself out there. Work has come to me steadily, but I have put in consistent effort to build my reputation, to garner support and to gain word-of-mouth opportunities.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Yoga is for everyone and I am known for being able to connect and share yoga and mindful meditation with people of all ages and from all walks of life.

As I stated previously, I meet people where they are in their yoga journey. I am proud that my diverse clientele includes assisted living residents, one on one private clients, in gym/studio group classes, large group (100 plus) community sponsored events and corporate wellness groups.

This feels like a dream come true to me. I love the people I meet and connect with. The kindness and compassion shared is very beautiful. Beyond the yoga; we laugh, we dance, we learn to trust, we connect and we find a deeper level of self love. I facilitate a safe space in an effort to guide people back to their true selves. Yoga is a wonderful practice of getting to know yourself— the self discovery is liberating.

I would like people to know to that I teach a free yoga class each week at a community setting in Canton. Sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, and held atThe Mill on Etowah, attendees can focus on connection, feeling good and self care. It’s held (weather permitting) each Wednesday night at 6PM, on the green space out by Reformation, at The Mill on Etowah. All are welcome!
Over the last few years of conducting this class I have witnessed some beautiful friendships and so much growth. Come and check us out!

Yoga is breathe connection with gentle movement. It helps you slow down. Gets you out of your head and into your body. The lessons you learn from yoga practice flow into your everyday life. It truly is a gift. A gift I happily receive and a gift I will happily share for the rest of my life.

Want to know more? I invite you to practice with me.
