On the streets of Martin Luther King Drive on Atlanta’s Westside, I sold my first bag of fruit in the late ’90s under the mentorship of Akil Muhammad. I was a young college student—familiar with the hustle—but driven by a deeper desire to uplift my community. What began as selling fruit bags soon grew into catering fresh fruit salads to local businesses.

After losing my job, and with the unwavering support of my wife, Shantara Muhammad, I launched a mobile catering business in 2019, serving College Park, East Point, and greater Atlanta. Over the years, my passion for entrepreneurship and health grew stronger, ultimately leading to the opening of Fruit Addict Juice Bar in the winter of 2024.

With the help of God, the love of my family, and the loyalty of my customers, I’ve been blessed to grow from humble beginnings—on a mission to change lives by providing healthy food options to the community I love.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest obstacles and challenges I have faced is securing the necessary capital to grow Fruit Addict Juice Bar.
