Hidden Gems: Meet Rasheem Artis of Survive And Conquer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rasheem Artis.

Hi Rasheem, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey honestly started with survival.

Before there was business, before there was branding, there was trauma, loss, setbacks, and moments where I had to decide whether I was going to fold or fight forward. I’m an Army veteran, entrepreneur, life coach, and the founder of Survive and Conquer — but none of that was built from comfort. It was built from healing.

After serving eight years in the military, I transitioned into entrepreneurship with a strong background in business and marketing. On paper, everything looked structured. But internally, I was still navigating anxiety, identity, and the weight of past experiences. I realized a lot of people around me were silently fighting similar battles — high functioning, ambitious, but carrying unprocessed pain.

Survive and Conquer was created as more than a brand. It became a movement. A safe space. A reminder that surviving is only the first step — conquering is the mindset.

What started as apparel with a message has grown into community outreach, mental health advocacy, life coaching, feeding the homeless, back-to-school drives, and collaborating with other leaders across Atlanta. I’ve helped hundreds of people annually through coaching, events, and partnerships. The goal has never just been revenue — it’s been impact.

Today, I’m continuing to scale Survive and Conquer while offering coaching services, wellness experiences, and building partnerships that align purpose with profit. I’m focused on expanding our reach, opening a physical store, and increasing the global footprint of the brand.

I didn’t get here alone. I got here through faith, discipline, mentorship, therapy, community, and the decision to keep showing up even on the hard days.

I’m still building. Still healing. Still conquering.

And that’s the story.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.

Entrepreneurship looks glamorous on social media, but behind the scenes it’s sacrifice, uncertainty, and a lot of lonely nights. I’ve faced financial setbacks, moments where I had to fund the vision out of my own pocket, and seasons where revenue didn’t match the effort. There were times I questioned if I was building too big of a dream.

On a personal level, I’ve had to confront trauma, anxiety, and self-doubt while still being the face of a brand that represents strength and resilience. That’s not easy. Being a mental health advocate means you can’t just preach healing — you have to actively do the work yourself.

Building Survive and Conquer also came with learning curves — hiring the wrong people at times, underpricing my services early on, not having the right systems in place, and realizing that passion doesn’t replace structure. I had to grow from being just a visionary into becoming a true CEO.

There were also moments of burnout. Pouring into the community, feeding the homeless, organizing drives, coaching clients — all while managing personal responsibilities — can stretch you thin. I had to learn boundaries and understand that rest is productive.

But every challenge sharpened me. The financial pressure taught me discipline. The emotional struggles taught me empathy. The mistakes taught me leadership.

It hasn’t been smooth — but it’s been purposeful. And every obstacle strengthened the foundation I’m building on

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Survive and Conquer is a purpose-driven brand rooted in resilience, healing, and community impact. What started as a motivational apparel line has evolved into a multi-layered platform centered around mental health advocacy, life coaching, wellness services, and outreach initiatives throughout Atlanta.

At its core, Survive and Conquer represents transformation. We specialize in helping individuals move from survival mode into a mindset of ownership, discipline, and growth. Through life coaching, workshops, speaking engagements, and curated wellness experiences, I work with entrepreneurs, professionals, and everyday individuals who are ready to confront their trauma, strengthen their mindset, and elevate their lives.

What sets us apart is authenticity. I don’t teach theory — I teach from lived experience. As an Army veteran and entrepreneur who has navigated trauma, business setbacks, and personal growth publicly, the brand is built from real-life resilience. Our community knows they’re not just buying a product or booking a service — they’re stepping into a safe space that values accountability, healing, and execution.

We are also deeply committed to community impact. A percentage of our proceeds supports charities and local organizations in Atlanta. We host back-to-school drives, feed the homeless, collaborate with other leaders, and create opportunities for people to feel seen and supported. Survive and Conquer isn’t just about motivation — it’s about measurable action.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that we’ve built trust. We’ve helped hundreds of people annually, reached thousands through events and partnerships, and created a brand that people connect to emotionally. That connection is powerful. When someone tells me the message helped them push through depression, rebuild after loss, or start their business — that’s bigger than any sale.

What I want readers to know is this: Survive and Conquer is not just clothing. It’s not just coaching. It’s a lifestyle shift. It’s for the person who refuses to let their past define their ceiling.

We are building something that merges purpose with profit, healing with structure, and community with leadership — and we’re just getting started.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people are surprised to learn that I’m actually an introvert.

Because I’m always hosting, speaking, coaching, and outside in the community, people assume I’m naturally “on” all the time. In reality, after events, I go home, sit in silence, and recharge like my social battery just hit 1%.

I’m big on discipline, structure, and mindset — but I’m also someone who needs quiet, reflection, and time to reset. The strength people see publicly is built in very private moments.

So yes, I can lead a room… but I absolutely need a nap after.
