Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Gipson.
Hi Samantha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I worked in the fashion industry in NYC in my 20s. After multiple injuries and burn out from work, I found Pilates and fell in love with it. I became an instructor in 2015 and switched to teaching full time in 2016. Since then I have started a retreat company, a Pilates teacher training program, teach group and private classes virtually and in person in Atlanta, and host New Moon Circles for women in Grant Park.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Working as a Pilates instructor it’s very easy to burn out and lose your own practice, When first starting out you want to pick up any and every shift that is given to you, which you soon realize is not sustainable. Thankfully I have finally found a balance of how much I can mentally and physically teach so that I am present with my clients and have the energy and passion to do my own projects.
As you know, we’re big fans of Samantha Gipson Pilates. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I offer small-group 500 HR Pilates Teacher Training, Pilates and Wellness Retreats, and local community events such as Women’s New Moon Circles. My work is rooted in creating meaningful experiences that go far beyond movement. I am known for curating environments where people feel deeply connected—to their own bodies, to one another, and to a greater sense of balance and purpose.
What sets me apart is the intention behind every detail. Whether it’s in the studio, on retreat, or in circle, I weave together movement, mindfulness, and community to create experiences that feel transformative rather than transactional. I pride myself on cultivating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and inspired.
Brand-wise, I am most proud of the way my offerings integrate wellness, education, and community. Pilates is the foundation, but the heart of my work is creating opportunities for people to expand—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I want readers to know that my brand is about more than exercise; it’s about empowering people to reconnect with themselves and with others, leaving them with a renewed sense of strength, clarity, and belonging.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Pilates is having a big moment right now. Unfortunately it’s not all real Pilates, studios are just throwing the name on there but not actually teaching the method or are using a machine that doesn’t actually do the things it was meant to. I’m hoping in the next 5-10 years Pilates still stays a more recognized workout that helps individuals feel stronger, more embodied and heal from injuries and the fad aspects of it fall away.
