Hidden Gems: Meet Terrell “Trill” Garth of Affiliated Digital Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrell “Trill” Garth.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started out as an intern for Legendary Chicago on air personality and DJ Pinkhouse on WEJM 950 am. I later moved to Atlanta, GA where I became employed with So So Def Street team, where I worked projects for So so def bass all stars, Jagged Edge and Bow wow. In Early 2000 I was noticed by a new A&R executive at LaFace Records named Shakir Stewart and began working marketing campaigns for LaFace artists. I worked projects for Pink, Goodie Mob, Younbloodz and Ciara. From there, I started Affiliated Digital Media, ADM was formed to ease the costs and manpower of street marketing and use the new innovation of digital marketing. I started using these methods with a local rap group from Gary, Indiana by the name of CCA (Concord Affiliated). CCA went on to have several billboard charting singles and projects and deal offers from Universal Music Group and Rap a lot Records. From there, I used Affiliated Digital Media to work with several labels from Def Jam , Warner Bros to TVT records. And to work with artists a Yelawolf, Rittz, Freddie Gibbs, and as recently as Soulja Boy. While still working artists marketing campaigns, I also became more involved in Film and Radio. I became marketing Director for The Eddie Kane Show on CBS Atlanta, developed a reality show titled Bosses Unplugged and became an on air personality for WDRE 89.3 Fm where I hosted the Midday show. I also started a yearly festival named Indie Megafest Atl where I provide a platform for buzzing National artists. I continue to manage artists, promote concerts, and execute marketing campaigns for labels.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was never always a smooth road but staying ahead of the technology curve early and embarrassing the digital marketing world before the advancement was an advantage.

It should be and embracing the digital market instead of embarrassing the digital market.

How do you think about luck?
Good luck and blessings were key from the beginning. From being able to work with a legendary DJ on Chicago radio to being noticed and developed by another Legendary Executive in Mr. Stewart. I always developed a personal relationships as well with clients which proved to be my key to longevity.
