Hi Tina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a busy wife, self-presentation has always been my priority. I am a mother of four, wife, full-time Office Manager, and businesswoman. As you can imagine, my hairstyles was hard to maintain during the most erratic times. Working at the number one trauma hospital in Atlanta, I love to work out before or after work. Sometimes, I had to park off-site and walk two blocks to work, no matter the weather. Which caused frizzy and untamed hair. As a front-line employee, my presentation had to be on point. The hassle was real caring a bag of hair gel, comb, bulky brush and scarf. After a lot of research on how to solve less packing and more conveniently, I created the solution, Slayedge On-The-Go. Easy to locate in your bag, great for after workouts, lunch dates, interviews, and before important meetings. Because of my hair care struggles, I am happy to inspire a hassle-free hair tool to your routine.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth ride at all. I wear so many hats, I’m the CEO of my business as well as at home. I had absolutely no knowledge of how to invent my edge control brush. This business took a lot of research, money, and dedication. I could not give up because my invention would keep me up at night. I cried and doubted myself so many times during this process. During with pandemic and dealing with the pandemic and manufacturing issues, my husband and I had to take money out of our 401K and paychecks to stay afloat.
