Started in Atlanta, Georgia, My Best Beauty Outlet was started out of a need. In 2018 Yvette and her husband started traveling to Asia. One of her friends who suffered with hair loss suggested that she bring some high-quality hair back for her as she could not find the hair that she needed at the price she could afford. Always having a love and passion for hair, extensions and wigs, Yvette took on this new challenge to help her friend with gusto! After learning about the hair industry while living in Asia, Yvette found several good and honest hair suppliers. She bought the hair for her friend and was able to return two-thirds of the money her friend sent as a budget.
Her friend was shocked and sent two more people to her, a budding business began to blossom, and My Best Beauty Outlet was formed. Yvette’s journey to learning more about the hair industry and how hair is collected led Yvette to be dismayed but determined to source her hair ethically. She has had the honor of cutting and physically collecting her own hair, working with local women to get the hair hand-tied for lace and attached to wefts. She loves the process of making wigs, dying them, making beautiful hairlines and making women and men feel confident while still being ethical. Her hand on approach allows her to make specific and customized wigs. My Best Beauty outlet is about Empowering women and men through beauty. We help women and men to feel more confident! Sometimes it is by making them hair extensions or giving them economic power!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey with helping women and men feel their best. Every day I wake up and try to be kinder and a better businesswoman than the day before, this is the personal challenge that I have set for myself.
However, I am a wife and having a work-life balance as a businesswoman can be a challenge. I try to make sure every day I set time aside for personal self-care and take a moment for myself. Sometimes I have to tell myself that I need to stop and breathe and enjoy my surroundings… recently I made a trip to source hair and I added a day at the end of the trip to enjoy the wonderful city I was in, these little moments that I give to myself help me stay refreshed and recharged.

After learning how some of the hair was sourced, Yvette becomes distraught, she knew that she and many women were contributing to the unethical treatment of the women, children and men who were donating their hair. Yvette spends a year talking to and connecting with the actual donors of her hair, she learned how to source her own hair. She works very hard to make sure that each person is paid a fair amount when they sell their hair. She has seen the money from hair she has purchased be used for school uniforms, to buy a wood stove to heat a house and to help buy meat for families throughout the harsh winter months. Her passion for people first allows her to make a connection and to learn about the natural way women in a remote Russian village use mustard on their hair to keep it bright and beautiful!
Why do I source (physically go get) my hair: 1. It’s more ethical! 2. The donors get a fair price for the hair! 3. I know it is high-quality hair. 4. It helps me build relationships, they know me and help me! 5. I help women be lifted out of poverty
These are a few of the reasons why I source my own hair. I feel like I am helping women. I help people to feel more confident! Sometimes it is by making them hair extensions or giving them economic power! Empowerment through beauty!

In business, life and love, we all have to take some type of risk. I know what I am doing is different in the hair industry and because it is different many times, I have to educate others on why my business is unique. I love taking well-thought-out risks to help and benefit my clients.
