Today we’d like to introduce you to Chenene Money.
To walk by faith and not by sight is not only scripture that the founder of Kusudi Films, Chenene R. Money loves to quote, it’s what she lives by.
From a young age, Chenene realized that her gifts and talents were bigger than what the city of Camden had to offer; at the time, she dreamt of playing in the WNBA. However, it wasn’t until her mother moved her to the borough of Lindenwold where she was introduced to her new passion of video and tv production. Straight out of high school, Chenene purchased her first Panasonic GH4, and it was then that she began to see her purpose through a new and improved lens.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The most frustrating thing about beginning the process was getting over the hurdle of not knowing where to start and having a ton of ideas and so much motivation. I overcame those things simply by letting go of the fears, doubt and just saying, “Ok Lord, I’m not sure what will come out of this first step but I trust you.” Then, that’s when I began to see a drastic change. I was able to build brick by brick instead of trying to start with an entire business building.
As you know, we’re big fans of Kusudi Films. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
On January 7, 2019 Kusudi Films was born from Chenene being inspired by a photography network she attended. Always wanting to align with God’s will for her life, Chenene prayed about the name of her newfound company and it was revealed to her that her company name should involve the word “purpose”. Chenene took the word and searched for alternatives finally resonating with Kusudi which translates to purpose in Swahili.
Kusudi Films believes everyone has a special gift to contribute to the greater good of humanity. Kusudi Films uses their service to encourage everyone to seek and understand their own God-given purpose. Some of the services include but are not limited to photography, videography, graphic design, fashion and mentorship.
How do you think about luck?
Don’t believe in luck. We believe in Blessings that come from the power of the Holy Spirit and standing firm in our walk with Jesus Christ. That is our foundation of the company, as well as our own lives. We witnessed the miracles and signs that everyone wonders. It has allowed us to impact even our clients and businesses we work with by giving them a different perspectives.
