Inspiring Conversations with Miesha Henderson of Sisters Empowerment Movement

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miesha Henderson.

Hi Miesha , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started back in October 2018, hosting small group sessions in the comfort of my own home; focusing on women’s issues, confidence, and becoming a better person from the inside out. What began as intimate conversations quickly turned into something much bigger. The response was overwhelming, and I realized I had tapped into a real need.
Seeing the impact of women gaining self-confidence, feeling empowered, and starting to view themselves in a new light, pushed me to expand beyond those small gatherings. I knew this wasn’t just a Moment, it was a calling.
Since then, I’ve grown into creating and curating empowering experiences through networking events, motivational gatherings, retreats, and transformational spaces for women of all backgrounds.
Today, my focus is on building a platform that not only inspires women to heal and grow but also add men events as well. The goal is to challenge them to step fully into their power, elevate their standards, and create the life they truly deserve.
What started in my living room has now evolved into a Movement—and I’m just getting started.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Building something meaningful comes with challenges, and I’ve experienced my share along the way.
In the beginning, one of the biggest struggles was being consistent and believing in the vision, especially when things were small and resources were limited. There were moments of self-doubt, wondering if I was reaching enough people, wondering was I wasting my time, or truly making an impact.
I also faced personal challenges such as loss, life transitions, and emotional setbacks; that could have easily caused me to stop. I also had imposter syndrome-feeling like I wasn’t qualified enough, questioning if I was really the right person to lead. On top of that, growing something from the ground up meant learning everything on my own, from building an audience to creating events and putting myself out there, even when it felt uncomfortable. But those struggles became my strength. It taught me resilience, discipline, and how to show up even when it’s hard. That also deepened my passion, because I wasn’t just teaching empowerment; I was living it.
So no, it hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has played a part in shaping the woman and the purpose behind what I do today.

As you know, we’re big fans of Sisters Empowerment Movement . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Sister Empowerment Movement Nonprofit Corporation was created as a safe and transformative space for women to grow, heal, and elevate from the inside out. What started as small, intimate conversations has evolved into a movement centered around real connection, accountability, and personal development.
As a Master Certified Life Coach, I bring both lived experience and professional guidance into the work that I do. My approach goes beyond surface level motivation. I focus on helping women shift their mindset, rebuild their confidence, and truly do the inner work required for lasting change.
At its core, Sister Empowerment Movement is about empowering women to increase self-worth, gain clarity, and become the best version of themselves mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We create these transformations through curated experiences like empowerment sessions, networking events, retreats, and impactful gatherings that foster genuine connection and growth.
What sets this movement apart is the authenticity behind it. This isn’t just something I teach it’s something I’ve lived. I create spaces where women feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment. It’s not about perfection, it’s about progression and real, sustainable growth.
We specialize in helping women who feel stuck, overlooked, or disconnected from themselves rediscover their power and step confidently into who they’re meant to be. Whether through coaching, community, or shared experiences, the goal is always transformation.
What I’m most proud of, brand wise, is the impact! Watching women walk in one way and leave more confident, self-aware, and empowered than before; that’s everything to me. Those breakthroughs, those mindset shifts, and those lasting connections are what continue to fuel this movement.
I want people to know that Sister Empowerment Movement is more than a brand it’s a community, a safe space, its healing circles, and a movement. It’s for the woman who is ready to heal, grow, and elevate her life unapologetically.

Any big plans?
Looking ahead, my vision is to expand Sister Empowerment Movement into a global platform that reaches and transforms lives on a much larger scale. I’m working toward hosting conferences, retreats, community events and empowerment experiences not just locally, but in cities and countries around the world.
One of the biggest evolutions of the brand is becoming more inclusive by creating space for men as well. Healing, growth, and emotional intelligence aren’t just for women, I want to help men do the inner work too, so they can show up better for themselves, their relationships, and their communities. That expansion will allow for deeper conversations, stronger connections, and more impactful change overall.
I’m also focused on growing my work as a Master Certified Life Coach by offering more structured programs, group coaching, and digital resources that can reach people globally.
This next chapter is about scaling the movement, building a legacy, and creating transformational experiences worldwide. I’m excited to step into a more global presence, collaborate across cultures, and continue creating spaces where people feel empowered to heal, grow, and fully step into who they’re meant to be.
