Today we’d like to introduce you to Nichole McLin.
Hi Nichole, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my medical career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I was employed by Eastview Nursing Home in Macon, GA. From there, I went to college to become a psychologist because I was interested in learning more about how the human brain worked. Due to an unfortunate incident, I was unable to complete at that time. I sustained a gunshot wound in the head prior that affected my ability to learn and stay focused. I left the college and was given an opportunity to work with a doctor in Macon, Ga. She was such an inspiration to me. I was trained as her medical assistant, then lab technician, Once I mastered those skills, she moved me to the billing and coding department. She then allowed me to go to school to learn the backend of it. That experience was an eye-opener. I learned certain concepts but saw a need for an instructor that could relay the information better so that the students could learn and be successful in their career fields. Upon finishing the class and passing the exam, I was offered a teaching position with the school. That’s when my teaching career began. I kept going, obtaining multiple certifications and eventually started my own training program. I also became a college professor and program chair. I wrote the MBC curriculum, helped to pass accreditation, and brought cert rates up from 2% to 100% within one year. I became a licensed instructor via AAPC and began teaching my students accordingly. I began to invest more time in my own business and took things more serious. I eventually became a Medical Billing & Coding Contractor & Consultant for anyone providing services using medical codes.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has mostly been smooth except for some financial struggles, client/customer commitments, etc.
As you know, we’re big fans of Jewvons Medical Coding, Billing, & Consulting. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My Business is Jewvons Medical Billing & Coding, LLC. It is a diversified company that specializes in Medical Coding, Medical Billing, Medical Auditing, Medicare Risk Adjustment, Medical Training, & Medical Consulting. I am known for holding one of the highest pass rates for all things listed prior. I train others how to do what I have done. I am known for being very passionate about students/trainees having knowledge upon completing my program(s) and not just holding a certification. I am very personable, and I care about people for real. My passion sets me apart because It’s not just about money for me-It’s personal. I am more concerned about the personal impact I have on others versus the financial impact they have on me.
Brand-wise, I am so proud of the brander, Timera Bell. She makes sure that I look good and really brings my vision to life! As far as my personal brand or thoughts, I am proud to say that when people hear of Jewvons, it is a name that carries weight! It means a lot to people when they have the opportunity to be trained by me. I want the readers to know that we offer services in the form of classes three times a year-February, May, & August. We also offer training and consulting services to physician offices, medical facilities, attorneys, patients, communities, understanding of medical records and medical bills, etc. We have something for everyone, literally.
How do you define success?
I define success as making every potential a reality and reaching every goal that you set no matter what the obstacles were in trying to obtain it.
