Today we’d like to introduce you to Shay Gray.
Hi Shay, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m from Arkadelphia, Arkansas and I moved to Atlanta to become an entrepreneur. Growing up, I watched my mom run two daycares so I knew then I wanted to be my own boss. I wasn’t going to let anything stand in my way. When I was about six years old I was molested by a family member. With that traumatic experienced, I refuse to let that stop me from accomplishing great things. Instead of letting it affect me, I let it fuel me to be great. About five years ago, I got my real estate license and became one of the best realtors in Atlanta. Our company pride itself on providing great customer service and treating everyone like family.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This hasn’t been a smooth road at all. I’ve definitely had to make a lot of sacrifices, especially in my first year. A lot of time was spent on my business and not family, so I had to learn how to have a work-life balance. In my first year I was fired about four times due to lack of time. I had way too many clients at one time so that’s what made me want a team of agents to work for me to help out.
