Today we’d like to introduce you to Toki Odunade
Hi Toki, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
From an early age, I have always been fascinated with the spiritual realm, the esoteric arts, and manifestation. That interest followed me into adulthood, and lead me to learn about rootwork and spiritual healing that has been practiced in the U.S. by my African and Native American ancestors. Along the way, I also became heavily involved in the Yoruba spiritual system. And, in 2002, I traveled to Osogbo, Nigeria to begin initiation and training in the priesthood of Osun.
I started making spelled or dressed candles over 20 years ago, as a way to help myself and loved ones focus our prayers and intentions, and manifest various needs and desires. And they worked! So, when my family and I opened Yeye’s Botanica in 2015, it was an easy decision to begin selling the dressed candles to the public. And, I’ve been making them ever since.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Thankfully, it’s been a pretty smooth road. My customers give me great feedback, and I try to consistently give them the best product I can.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Mama Toki’s Blessed and Dressed?
The full name of my business is Mama Toki’s Blessed and Dressed Candles & Curios, which I know is a mouthful, so most people just refer to it as Mama Toki’s or Mama Toki’s Blessed and Dressed. I specialize in making a variety of dressed/spelled candles that people can use as manifestation tools to bring about their most desired outcomes. I’m pretty well known in and around Atlanta for making potent dressed candles, and for offering solid spiritual services, in the way of readings and spiritual counseling sessions. I think what sets me apart from others is a firm commitment to consistency, ethics and expansion. I’m most proud brand wise of making products that people really depend on. I want readers (and prospective customers) to know and feel the care and good intentions that I put in to every product.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I feel like consistency and sincerity have been the most important qualities that have lead to my success. I pray for the highest good for everyone who uses a product that I create.
