Inspiring Conversations with Trenton Chase of GMONPRODUCTIONS/REVERB ROOM

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trenton Chase.

Hi Trenton, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always been heavily involved in music and the DIY scene, especially around Middle Georgia. What started as simply wanting to help local bands and give people a place to experience live music slowly turned into something much bigger. A few years ago I started booking my own bands show and was asked to help book other bands events, so we started GMONPRODUCTIONS, with the goal of building a stronger community for metal, hardcore, punk, and alternative music in areas that often get overlooked by larger touring markets.

At first it was small local shows, learning as I went, building connections, and figuring out how to promote events, run sound, and work with artists. Over time, the community support grew way beyond what I expected. GMO Productions eventually expanded into booking tours, managing events, helping bands with promotion and media, and working with larger touring acts.

One of the biggest milestones has been helping build and operate The Reverb Room in Warner Robins, Georgia — an all-ages venue focused on giving local and touring artists a real platform while also creating a safe space for creativity and community. We host everything from hardcore shows and metal festivals to game nights, markets, and community events.

A huge part of my story has been learning through trial and error. None of this was handed to me. It’s come from years of networking, late nights, setbacks, reinvesting into equipment and the venue, and genuinely caring about the scene and the people in it. Seeing local artists grow, watching crowds get bigger, and helping create opportunities for bands has made all the work worth it.

Today I’m continuing to grow GMO Productions, expand The Reverb Room, and work toward making Middle Georgia a more recognized stop for independent music and touring artists

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. A lot of what I’ve built with GMO Productions and The Reverb Room came from learning through mistakes, setbacks, and constantly adapting. One of the biggest challenges has been building something independent in a smaller market where heavy music and DIY culture aren’t always taken seriously or heavily supported financially.

There have been plenty of difficult moments — low attendance shows, financial risks, equipment issues, last-minute cancellations, burnout, and trying to balance passion with the reality of running a business. When you’re organizing events, managing artists, promoting shows, and helping operate a venue, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes that people never really see.

Another challenge has been earning trust and credibility. In the DIY and music world, reputation matters a lot, and when you’re younger and trying to build something ambitious, people can sometimes doubt you until you consistently prove yourself over time. That took patience and a lot of persistence.

Owning and operating an all-ages venue has also come with unique obstacles. Keeping events affordable while still paying bands fairly, maintaining equipment, handling logistics, and creating a safe environment for everyone is a constant balancing act.

At the same time, those challenges are what shaped me the most. Every setback taught me something important about leadership, communication, organization, and resilience. I think the reason GMO Productions and The Reverb Room have continued growing is because we never stopped pushing forward, even during the hard periods.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about GMONPRODUCTIONS/REVERB ROOM?
GMO Productions specializes in concert promotion, tour booking, artist support, event production, and venue operations. Over the years we’ve worked with local artists, regional acts, and national touring bands while helping grow Middle Georgia into a more active stop for independent music. The Reverb Room serves as our home base — an all-ages venue designed to give artists and fans a place where they feel welcome, supported, and creatively inspired.

What sets us apart is that we’re deeply connected to the community we serve. We’re not just hosting events — we’re actively involved in the scene every day. We understand the challenges local artists face because we’ve lived them ourselves. That perspective allows us to approach everything with authenticity and passion rather than treating it like just another business transaction.

In addition to concerts, we host game nights, markets, networking events, and community gatherings that help bring different groups of people together. We’ve worked hard to create an environment where younger audiences, local creatives, musicians, and fans all feel like they have a space to belong.

One thing I’m most proud of is seeing how much the community has grown around what we’ve built. Watching local bands gain confidence, seeing people discover new music, and creating memorable experiences for others has been incredibly rewarding. We’ve built a brand that values creativity, inclusivity, hard work, and genuine connection.

At the end of the day, GMO Productions and The Reverb Room are about more than entertainment — they’re about giving people opportunities, creating culture locally, and proving that independent music and grassroots communities can thrive anywhere with enough passion and dedication

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I have my own personal mentors that this wouldn’t happen without them. They include Robert and Susan Potter, Adam Hussler (vox for powerplay), My father, Nathan Chase, my Partner Bree Berry, and best friend Austin Pfeiffer.
