Today we’d like to introduce you to Wesley Fields.
Wesley, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started out with a football in my hand. I was preparing my whole life by doing the things I needed to do to take care of my body and be able to be in a position to play at the next level. I earned a full scholarship to play football at Georgia Southern University, where I obtain a degree in Sport Management. My years there were great and I was able to leave a legacy that will forever be remembered. I gain some attention from pro scouts that gave me hopes to making a lifelong dream come true. In the midst of a lot of adversity, I decided to walk away from the game of football due to many injuries sustain over the years f playing ball. Although this was not hard to do but certainly put me into a tough mental spot. I later got myself together and started to job search so I could make money and maybe eventually started back training.
I started working at UPS of June 2019 and I got into training shortly after I decided to leave the game and started to develop a deeper love for training. I have been training since the Fall November 2019 till now. I train host of non-athletes and all levels of athletes. Training for me have become more than just a lifestyle, it has become my second love, my best friend and most importantly, a place where I find peace. I use training for more than just physical change but the ultimate mind change. With this same mentality I have with training is the same mentality I pour into my clients.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It defiantly has not been a smooth road. I had so many injuries dealing with football and personal life issues that took a big toll on my mind and body. Even when I decided to get into personal training, I had doubts about this as well. Wondering if I can really change someone’s body the way I change minds. It is easy for me to do what I need but can be very challenging to get others to hop on board. And in this fitness industry, it is so many talented people that are doing it. But everyone has there own style and once you master your style, then you stick with that and then the people will follow it. Fi
We’ve been impressed with Dogghouse Training by Fielddogg, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am in the fitness industry conducting semi-group training, virtual, one on one training as well as performance training. Dogghouse Training is built on a foundation of “cultivating the body you want by developing the mindset you need!”. When you train with DOGGHOUSE, you will get the foundation of calisthenics and strength training. For me, it is more than training, it is about building relationships and changing people lives. I love the fact that I have a business in my name, a young black man in America making a change in people by simply bringing people into fitness. When you hear the name Wesley Fields, I want you to know that I am someone who will give you 110% effort with the service I offer.
