We recently had the chance to connect with Lacey Taylor and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Lacey, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Peace, Thank you for having me. The first 90 minutes of my day looks different than most. As a wife, pregnant mom of 5, full-time Masters student and homeschool mom and Co-owner of My Natures House Bed & Breakfast. Is me waking up between 5:30-6 a.m., hydrating my body, giving thanks, and starting on school work for and hour, then starting on breakfast for my family.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Most certainly. My name is Queen Muva Mrs. Lacey Taylor. The Melanated Millennial Homemaker, but you can call me Lacey. I’m a disabled retired Army Veteran, wife, mother, and visionary. What makes My Natures House Bed & Breakfast unique, is that we offer our guests the opportunity to give back to the land by caring for livestock and working in the garden.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful, was when I gave birth to my second son, at home, with just my husband and I. That was when I KNEW, I could take life by the horns.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
In 2025. I learned the art of transmuting anger into abundance, by crying. 2025 was a time of reimagining my power and the magnitude of it.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
A belief I used to hold tightly was “Blood is thicker than water”. The belief that your family should come before others, such as friends and community.
This thought is completely flawed. Because most of the times, it’s your own “family” members that mean you the most harm.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
If I weren’t already doing it, I would regret not living live to it’s fullest potential. Which is why I don’t play it small. I know I’m the 1, 2, 3 and 4. My light is so bright that it blinds people who hate the light, and that’s not my problem.
