Hi Brandon, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I feel like others are secretly struggling with self doubt and self love. I feel like self doubt comes from not being where you want to be or feel like you need to be. Wait your turn, be patient and remember it’ll all be given to you when you’re ready for it. Love yourself first before you expect anyone else to love you. If you learn to love yourself then you’ll be able to identify who really loves you as well and want the best for you. That right group of friends will come.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Brandon Dawson but i go by Oneshot_Drizzy. I have a passion for building cars and helping people learn through my YouTube platform. I also post vlogs to show what i do on a regular day in my life. I am the owner and main technician at Oneshot Performance. I started this business back in 2023 but have been working with cars for almost 10 years. Right now i am working on building a 550HP BMW 335i which is different from my original builds by a long shot. Oneshot is my brand name and car group name also. As of now we’re just building our social media presence and making the name known. We plan on opening our very own car property for all types of fun dealing with cars. Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I used to be a gamer and a song artist. I had a passion for music and making songs but eventually just gave it up. Around the time i started giving up music my car broke down and i had to learn to fix it. My first time ever working on a car i had to replace a full engine assembly. I barely even knew how to replace brake pads or even how to add coolant to a reservoir. With enough research and figuring things out i learned how to replace the engine and completed the full job by myself. After that job was completed i loved the feeling of driving something i did all the work to and since then I’ve loved seeing a car that’s been neglected get restored and run better than it ever have.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Everyday! I always tell myself if being successful was easy everyone would be. It’s hard to make it through some situations but giving up is not an option. I’ve had plenty of businesses that I’ve started and always gave up when they got hard. I’ve repaired appliances, lawn care services and even mobile detailing. When times got hard i gave up and those businesses never really turned revenue. Once i started Oneshot Performance i ran into struggles financially, mentally and even physically but i never gave up because i realized the only way to stop starting over is to stop giving up. Since I’ve gained that mindset I’ve seen better days and consistently watched Oneshot performance along with Oneshot_Drizzy grow everyday.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
I would say yes. I hide nothing about myself because everything in the dark will eventually come to the light so there’s no point in hiding. I’m a chill laid back person that loves to mess with cars and crack jokes all the time. Being around me you will definitely laugh a lot and hear about cars non stop.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. I give everything my best regularly. If you’re not perfecting your craft and doing your best in whatever field you’re working then what are you doing? I research about cars and social media algorithms daily. I look for no validation from anyone about something that will help other people and myself all in one.
