We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brittani Martin . Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Brittani , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’ve been called to lead the youth. I used to be afraid to speak publicly but I have started teaching teens and in turn it has aided in my leadership abilities specifically my ability to speak to large groups and prepare and lead with instruction.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a passionate community leader and the visionary behind Build Yourself Up Academy. With a deep commitment to empowering youth and uplifting my community, I have dedicated my life to helping others turn their dreams into achievable goals.
Through Build Yourself Up Academy, I provide meaningful resources, mentorship, and real-world opportunities designed to help individuals unlock their full potential. What makes my organization truly unique is its inclusive, hands-on approach that meets people where they are and gives them the tools and confidence to take the next step forward—whether in education, personal development, or career growth.
Currently, I am expanding my impact by developing a powerful curriculum aimed at reaching even more young people in Atlanta and the surrounding cities. I’m also working on getting my self-published help books into stores—another step in my mission to inspire, educate, and motivate as many lives as possible.
Im not just building an academy—im building a movement of empowered, goal-driven individuals ready to rise.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
“My earliest moment of feeling truly powerful was when I launched my brand and saw the ripple effect it had on others. Watching people get inspired—not just by the name, but by the message—to start their own brands, chase their goals, and stay committed to building themselves up… that’s when it hit me. What I created wasn’t just a brand—it was a movement. That realization gave me a deep sense of purpose and power.”
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
It taught me to be humble and to learn from my mistakes. It’s only about how you bounce back not how you fail. That it what makes success so meaningful and it’s honestly what defines success to me.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would probably say that what really matters to me is empowering others, especially the youth. They’d likely describe me as someone who is deeply committed to growth—both personal and communal—and someone who lights up when others start believing in themselves.
They might say:
“Brittani genuinely cares about helping people rise above their circumstances.”
“She’s always thinking about how to pour into others, especially the next generation.”
“What matters most to her is seeing people win, seeing them build themselves up, just like she did.”
At the core, they’d say I value purpose, progress, and people.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Brittani Martin was a light in the lives of so many. She didn’t just talk about change—she created it. She believed in people before they believed in themselves, especially the youth. Through her work with Build Yourself Up Academy, she gave others the tools, confidence, and courage to grow into their full potential. She showed us what it meant to rise above circumstances, to lead with heart, and to leave the world better than she found it. Because of her, generations will keep building themselves up—and lifting others as they do.
