Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Cas Epps of Lindbergh

Cas Epps shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Cas, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
A recent moment that made me feel proud was completing my first show as a Segment Producer. I have worked multiple styles of production for almost a decade and to finally be in a place where I can shine creatively and with a bit more say made all of my hard work is starting to pay off. Bigger contracts, credits, and checks for the rest of my life!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Welcome all! My name is Cas, firstly, I am a creative. I come from a long bloodline of Television and Film entertainment and I follow in those footsteps. I creative music, whether it be Rap, R&B, even singing along with my friend covering songs as he strums his acoustic guitar, I love to be behind a mic recording and performing. I work in creative spaces full time, movies, television shows, music videos, short films, film festivals, live productions, corporate productions, project management, all of the things to make a show come alive. I love what I do and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I have a company, I have recently started which focuses on a few different things, production consulting, production leads, project management, labor hiring, and this may be a little odd but we are venturing into luxury bathroom trailers. Very practical I must say! but I am excited to jump into it. Praying for much success for all our ventures in the future!

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My father Christian Epps. A lighting icon who has lit some of the most legendary shows, movies, and live events we have laid our eyes on for decades.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You’re doing amazing! Keep going kid!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Anyone with talent can make it. It’s a lie, anyone who works hard, has talent, and really sacrifices makes it! Sprinkle a little nepotism in there and your for sure in the door!

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
Sacrificing earlier. I enjoyed my 20s for sure, and I always encourage that, but I do wish I began some of my endeavors earlier on. With the current climate and economy, I feel that we can not rely on anyone but ourselves and the foundations that we build for our families and future legacies.
