Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Emanuel Lynch of Five Points

Emanuel Lynch shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Emanuel, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
This is tough! All 3 are super important, but I’m giving the edge to integrity. I am HUGE on being honest and staying loyal. You need to have people of integrity in your circle. Integrity builds genuine, long-lasting connections. Without it, there’s no form of trust.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
What’s up everybody! My name is Emanuel Lynch and I am a artist, songwriter, and producer. I am originally from St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, but I am currently based in Atlanta, Georgia. I am known for making R&B, Dancehall, and Afrobeat music. Something unique about my music is my versatility in vocal ranges and production. I display my island roots through singing, songwriting, and rapping as well.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents! I can answer that without any hesitation! My parents are both successful business owners. Since birth, I’ve seen them grind and hustle their way to the top, not just for themselves, but for me as well. I wouldn’t be anywhere without them! They’ve instilled that business mentality in me since birth, as well as knowing how to save and manage money properly. They’re a humungous part of my music journey!

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Man, just last week I felt like giving up! They’re definitely moments where I want to stop and just delete everything, but I can’t! I’ve gotten too far in my journey to quit now. I have a story to tell. I have to push through it. Watching other artists just inspires and motivates me to keep going. I see it as a form of competition. What keeps my mind from having bad thoughts is praying to God. I know he’s watching over me and I know he sees everything thats going on. He always keeps me protected.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Smart people need to focus on themselves and not on others. I believe thats the biggest downfall for a lot of people. Why are you worrying about others? I feel like social media makes it difficult because we, as humans, have a tendency to boast and brag about our accomplishments. Smart, successful people find a way to block negativity out and stay humble. Stop focusing on someone else’s journey and mind your business friend!

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m recording music in the studio alone. I’m an only child, so I’m use to being by myself. Don’t get me wrong, I love collaborating and working with others in the studio, but some people don’t understand my workflow. What’s even worse is when someone brings negative energy into sessions. That really aggravates me! I just want to make some good music and go about my business. People need to understand how to read the room. Be respectful and considerate to others around you!
