Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Lester Greene of Rockdale County

We recently had the chance to connect with Lester Greene and have shared our conversation below.

Lester , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
When I wake up, I get on my treadmill for a couple of hours. It helps loosing my mind and body. I might even work on memorizing my script as I walk…

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an actor and I tell stories by revisiting good and bad experiences in my life. Acting is all about making the unbelievable look and feel realistic.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I felt empowered driving a New York City bus full of passengers. It was my responsibility to ensure their safety. The pressure of that responsibility pushes me to be responsible in everything that I do now.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I use my pain in my acting work. It is the only way that I address my pain. Acting is my therapy and I know it. Knowing is everything… I just received an email from someone who said that she was moved to tears by my performance in the movie “Father May I.” For me, impacting others is why I exist. There is no better feeling than helping others.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I am as authentic as they come. What you see is what you get…

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I just want people to say that I lived my life the right way, that I was a good person.
