Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Maleeha Rahim

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Maleeha Rahim. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Maleeha, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I think many people quietly struggle with comparing themselves to others — their bodies, careers, relationships, or even just their daily lives. Social media and constant exposure to everyone’s ‘best moments’ can make it feel like we’re falling behind. I see it in fitness all the time: people feel discouraged because they don’t look like someone else or aren’t where they ‘should’ be. But growth, health, and success are everyone’s own personal journeys. The real win is learning to focus on your own progress rather than someone else’s.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Maleeha Rahim, a personal trainer, nutrition coach, and founder of Ihsaan Fitness — a women-centered fitness brand that blends health, strength, and Islamic values. My mission is to create safe, empowering spaces where women, especially Muslim women, can work toward their fitness goals without compromising their comfort or beliefs. I work with clients both in person and online, offering everything from personalized training to group classes and wellness education.

Right now, I’m working on expanding my programs so I can reach more women across the country and help them experience not just physical transformation, but a boost in energy, confidence, and self-worth.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My family has taught me a lot about work, but most importantly my dad. He has a background in business and has taught me so much about running a business, having strong work ethic, and staying disciplined. He’s always believed in me and supported me, helping me grow into the entrepreneur I am today, alhumdulillah.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d remind my younger self to stay positive and kind, and to cherish the people around you, especially your family- that’s what really matters.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies the fitness industry tells itself and others is that there’s a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to health. Quick fixes, extreme diets, and cookie-cutter programs are often marketed as solutions, but real, sustainable results come from consistency, personalization, and focusing on overall wellness rather than just appearance. Another misconception is that progress has to be dramatic or fast. In reality, small, steady changes are what create transformation.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
I think I would have regretted not switching my career from working in a clinic. It was a very depressing environment, and I was sitting all day. Alhamdulillah, now I’m making a real difference in people’s lives, helping them move, stay active, and do it all in a positive, fun environment. I’m truly passionate about what I do, and I love that people can feel that energy from me.
