Mikiko King shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Mikiko, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
A story of who I am and who I’ve become
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Well I won’t say that I’m a billionaire yet but I will keep affirming that I am becoming that daily just by being who I am!! I grew up as most would say the Pjs in a small city with people that had great minds to be successful!! I didn’t have a silver spoon in my mouth but I was raised to have courage and understanding to be able to face anything that was thrown at me in my life!! I was raised to have ambition and drive to be able to challenge any obstacle that came my way and even now as the successful woman I am today.. my goal is to strive to help someone else achieve their goals as well.. I am a Tax ERO, Mentor, Business Coach and soon to be Author and CEO of a Non Profit Organization called “Life After the Hidden Butterfly” What makes me stand out is the fact that I do nothing or go nowhere without God.. even in my physical being of battling with MS I still push and strive to be great not only for myself but for my Husband and Children.. My story is going and will change lives.. It’s not only my story but it’s my ministry to help others overcome anything that they feel is too hard to do!! If God can do it for me he can definitely do it for you too!! We are in this to take it by force!!!
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The moment of when I was diagnosed with MS.. it showed me that no matter what the doctor say or people said I’ve always believed and had faith that anything is possible with God!!
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That we can’t fix everything ourselves and that we have to stop trying to take control of things in our lives that God has already worked out for us!!!
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes it’s the real me simply because I’m a very transparent bold individual that speaks the truth.. if I’m pretending to be something or someone I’m not then I’m not being who I was created to be!! And that’s the best version of myself!!!
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
Is when I allow God to take full control of my life and just flow in his presence
