Regina Doyle shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Regina, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me right now starts early. I like to take a little time in the morning to pray, reflect, and set my intentions before the day gets busy. Once I get to the salon, my day is all about my clients — scalp therapy treatments, head spa sessions, consultations, and sometimes just encouraging words to remind them that healing and hair growth take time.
In between clients I’m usually working on something for New Beginnings Hair Therapy, creating educational posts, or planning new ways to serve my clients better.
After salon hours, I turn my focus back to my family. Being a wife, mother, and now a grandmother brings me so much joy. Balancing business and family isn’t always easy, but I’m grateful for the rhythm I’ve found.
At the end of the day, I reflect on how far I’ve come, and I’m reminded that this journey is bigger than just hair — it’s about healing, growth, and new beginnings.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Regina Doyle, and I am the owner of New Beginnings Beauty Bar in Mobile, Alabama. I’m also a certified trichologist and scalp therapist which means I specialize in scalp health and hair loss. What makes my brand unique is that I don’t just focus on styling hair — I focus on healing it from the root.
New Beginnings is actually home to Mobile’s very first head spa, and I take pride in offering a space where clients can relax, restore, and learn how to truly care for their scalp and hair. Over the years I’ve also created my own product line, New Beginnings Hair Therapy, designed with natural ingredients that target scalp wellness and hair growth.
What I want people to know is that this brand was born out of my own journey — as a woman, wife, mother, and now grandmother, I know what it feels like to go through transitions and need a fresh start. That’s why New Beginnings is more than a salon or a product line — it’s a place and a movement for healing, growth, and confidence. Right now, I’m focused on continuing to educate my community about scalp health while expanding my brand to reach more women who are ready for their own ‘new beginning.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that has served its purpose and must now be released is the version of me that always carried everyone else’s weight before my own. For a long time, I thought I had to put myself last to prove my love and loyalty, but that only left me drained and unseen.
That season taught me compassion, strength, and resilience — and for that, I’m grateful. But now, I release that part of me. I no longer have to sacrifice myself to show up for others. I can honor who I am, set boundaries, and still love deeply. That release makes room for peace, balance, and growth.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that’s held me back the most has been the fear of failing. For a long time, I doubted myself and questioned if I was really enough to step into the things I dreamed of. That fear made me play small and second-guess decisions I knew I should’ve made.
With time, I’ve learned that failure isn’t the end — it’s just part of the process. Every time I’ve stumbled, I’ve gained lessons that made me stronger. Now I remind myself that trying and growing is far more powerful than letting fear keep me stuck.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me — but it’s not all of me. What people see in the salon or on social media is my genuine passion for scalp health, for helping women heal, and for creating new beginnings. That part is 100% real.
But like anyone, there are sides of me the public doesn’t always see — the quiet moments, the tears, the times I’ve had to push through doubt or grief. I’ve learned to show up authentically, but also to protect the parts of me that are still healing. So yes, the public me is real — it’s just not the whole story.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I think my customers would miss the way I make them feel seen and cared for the most. Yes, they’d miss the scalp treatments, the head spa, and the healthy hair transformations — but more than that, they’d miss the atmosphere of peace, healing, and education that I bring into every appointment.
My clients know I don’t just do their hair; I pour into them. I teach them, encourage them, and remind them that their hair health is connected to their overall wellness. That personal touch, that sense of family and genuine care — I believe that’s what they’d miss the most.
