Taylor Richardson shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Taylor , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m most proud of building a strong inner foundation resilience, self-trust, and a mindset that refuses to give up, no matter how many setbacks I face. People see the achievements, the titles, the campaigns, but they don’t see the nights I’ve sat with doubt, pushing through anxiety or fear, learning to rest without quitting. That inner work is what holds everything else up.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am currently a neurodivergent Spelman College senior, advocate, aspiring physician who hopes to go space one day.. I’m passionate about science, medicine, advocacy, and creating space for Black girls and students from underrepresented backgrounds to dream big. My journey blends storytelling, service, and STEM and building a movement that turns barriers into bridges. Right now, I’m studying for the MCAT while raising support for my final year of college and future in medicine through my Abundantly Different Happily Divine #ADHD brand apparel. What makes my brand unique is its heart. It is about honoring where I come from, staying grounded in service, and showing what’s possible when we bet on ourselves and each other. Everything I do is rooted in impact and representation.
I’m excited to keep building, learning, and dreaming out loud.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with my younger self. The more I reflect on who she was curious, sensitive, determined the more I see how much she endures and how much she dreamed. Honoring her has helped me see myself not just as a student or future astrodoc, but as someone worthy, whole, and becoming.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of not being enough. Not smart enough, not polished enough, not prepared enough. It made me second-guess myself even when I had every reason to trust my ability. I’ve had to learn that growth and worth aren’t the same thing I can still be learning and still belong.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I protect at all times is community care. It is the idea that we are responsible for looking out for one another, not just ourselves.
In everything I do, whether it’s organizing health events, mentoring students, or sharing my story publicly, I try to center care, reciprocity, and collective uplift. I come from communities where people show up for each other, even when resources are tight. That mindset shaped me. It reminds me that success means nothing if I can’t reach back and bring others with me.
No matter where I go that value stays at the core.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
My heart. My voice. My purpose. The love I’ve poured into people, the lives I’ve touched, and the fire in me that refuses to let anything fear, systems, or setbacks win. What would remain is a kind spirit that keeps showing up, even when it’s hard.
