We’re looking forward to introducing you to Tia Reid. Check out our conversation below.
Tia , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I would say integrity, because that’s what I stand firm on. You can teach skills and you can spark energy or motivate someone to change how they want to be perceived but you cannot build someone’s actual character. Smart people and those high in energy are everywhere, people who move on honesty, respect, and principles…. Are rare.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Tia Reid. I am a recording artist, model, and an all around creative. I love blending art, culture, and story telling in everything I do… whether it’s music, modeling, or working on projects behind the scenes. I co-produce/direct, and help bring visions to life, making sure every detail aligns with authenticity and impact. What makes my work unique is that I bring my whole self to every room, every set… my energy, vision, and principles are deep rooted. Right now, I’m focused on expanding my brand through music and production work that inspires, empowers, and leaves a lasting impression. This is definitely only the peak.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
I’d honestly say my relationship with myself is what shaped how I see myself. I’ve had so many experiences and encounters that forced me to reflect, and when I really looked back, I realized a lot of those situations came from a lack of love and understanding for myself. Once I started pouring into me, really valuing who I am, everything about how I saw myself and what I accepted began to change. Everything else followed suit.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that I could, even when everything in me thought I couldn’t. It taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of staying true to myself through it all. Success couldn’t shape me the way pain did…. pain made me fight harder, focus deeper, and prove how much I really wanted whatever I had my heart and mind set on.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
In my opinion, fads are temporary and foundational shifts are rooted in real change. A fad looks good for the moment, or when there’s “hype”. However, a shift feels necessary, authentic. You can always tell which is which, because only one will keep evolving. No matter how the times change.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand knowledge of self. Self awareness should actually be my first language. lol I feel like, once you really know who you are, everything else starts to make sense…. how you move, what you attract, and what you no longer tolerate.
