Today we’d like to introduce you to 3rddd
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Most people know me by 3rddd, pronounced third. I am an Atlanta native, born and raised from Zone 3. I began my story as everyone else in Atlanta, just trying to make it daily. However, God blessed me with a gift for gab talent in which I am able to use Instagram and social media platforms to spread words of peace, or as others like to call me a “Street Influencer”. I started posting videos onto Instagram when I was 16. It was never about gaining “clout” or becoming an influencer, I just wanted to share genuine messages that I believed people could relate to. Within five years, people started to recognize me and would say, “Hey, aren’t you that funny dude off of Instagram?” People also started sending me messages saying that I was their inspiration to be better or that my videos helped them through their rough days which gave me motivation to keep going. As I am only 23 years old now, I know that I am just getting started, and there is so much more that God has in store for me to give back to my community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road. At just the age of 13, my older sister passed away, who was my best friend, mentor, and biggest supporter in life. After this traumatic experience, it was harder for me to stay motivated and focused on my goals which led to me dropping out of high school in the ninth grade. Ever since then, I started my journey to becoming a “Street Influencer”. I began filming my first reels by the house that my sister passed away in. Being in the area helped me to keep her memory alive and let me know that she was not too far away and always in my heart. She used to always tell me to journal, and I used Instagram reels as my own personal diary.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create my own personal version of “Ted Talks” through Instagram reels by specializing in humor along with words of admiration. This promotes people to keep going and know that we are all human beings who wake up with the same mission to stay alive daily. I am most known for the lingo that I use in my videos, such as “Munyunz” when referring to money and a bit of Atlanta “slang” to make the content relatable.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
The app that helps me the most would be Instagram as it is where I was first found, and I really use it as my news channel daily. It’s my most used app on my phone and definitely helps me to keep in contact with my fans as to what they’re hoping to see from me next.
