Life & Work with Andre Zachery of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andre Zachery.

Hi andre, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have always been interested in photography and always loved going through old photo albums when i was a kid and even till this day, which is the reason I love film over digital. I got started with photography in 2021, I was in my last year of my navy contract and i knew I didn’t plan on reenlisting so i had to have a real reason and plan before i got out. I started taking pics in San Diego around the start of covid. I picked up a little traction and got way better feedback than i originally excepted. Then I kind of just took it and ran with it once i moved back to Atlanta.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely hasn’t! Honestly if I wasn’t doing photography for me and my love for capturing memories and moments for myself and family, I may have given up already. You definitely have to find your “why” in this lane because it’s easy to get unmotivated. Weather its slow and you’re not being booked or trying to0 find consistent and dependable clients, trying not to compare your work to others but it’s human nature in a sense I believe. My personal struggles where exactly those and in my case I know I’m good at what i do and I believe I’m better than a lot of people but again that’s part of the process and knowing why you’re doing what you are doing because regardless of what you do what field you’re in if it’s something you enjoy doing you’re going to compare your work to those of your peers and colleagues.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m Dre’, a passionate visual storyteller who believes in capturing life’s most authentic moments through the lens of my camera. With a love for both the classic charm of 35mm film and the dynamic world of videography, I create images and videos that tell compelling stories. Whether it’s a lifestyle portrait or a cinematic video project, my goal is to bring your vision to life with creativity and precision.

What matters most to you?
Family, and leaving a legacy behind. If you not tryna have something to leave behind once your time here is up, then what’s the point? And family of course I’m trying to carry on the legacy and build my own at the same time.
