Life & Work with Ariel Rose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Rose.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a travel blogger and business owner. I started blogging back in college but I’ve been traveling my whole life. My parents are from the Caribbean and I have family in so many countries, so travel was always very normalized.

When I got to college I took full advantage of study abroad programs that allowed me to visit Central America, South America and Asia for the first time. These trips really shaped me into the person I am and open my eyes to perspectives I didn’t know existed. I drove me to want to explore everything from regional cuisines to cultures.

I’m currently on a Caribbean tour where I am on a mission to hit every Caribbean island. This goal also sparked the idea for my company, azaz swim., created by my sister and I. We felt we were in swimwear all the time but wanted pieces that were more comfortable but still allowed you to feel sexy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s been times of smoothness and times of stress and headaches. It comes in waves like anything in life. I think one of the best things I did was start growing a team which I’m still in the process of doing. When you have a few people in your corner and it’s not you all the time it helps smooth things out.

I learned through a lot of trial and error with my first blog because I didn’t do the proper research before. Granted, I didn’t start it anticipating it would grow how it did but now I have the mindset that whenever I start something I treat it like it’s going to blow up.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have created multiple travel challenges for myself included visiting 25 countries by 25, which I accomplished in January 2022. My current mission is to visit every Caribbean island, as I am of Caribbean background and was to immerse myself in the culture.

I provide international travel inspiration for millennials and Gen Z’s to go out and explore everything a country has to offer from food to culture while we are young.

Travel teaches you things you just can’t get from a classroom. As I’ve gotten older, my travels and how I go about them have evolved with me. Now, I work full time, influencer and user-generated content creator, a homeowner going through renovations and I still fit my travels into all the chaos. My goal is to show young adults that travel doesn’t have to drain your pockets and that it’s NOT unattainable.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I think risks are necessary. You never know how far you can go until you push yourself over the edge. When I initially started my travel blog, it was just for fun. More or less an FAQ page for people that would ask me questions about how I travel. I didn’t think it would develop into creating content from Instagram to YouTube and growing a community of young travelers and generating an income.
