Today we’d like to introduce you to Daquon Mckenzie.
Hi Daquon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up as the oldest sibling of three every life experience, I had to go through first so my siblings wouldn’t have to. With that being said Content was something I always wanted to do growing up. I also grew up in a two parent household with parents that made sure me and my siblings had the best life we could ever imagine, but nothing was ever handed to me. My parents made us work for everything in life. And that’s when I found myself doing content because it never felt like work. It always felt like I was just having fun and everything else came with it.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being a content, creator was never a smooth road for me. It took years to get to the point to where I am achieving the views that I am doing now. Some struggles I endured along the way was posting consistently while only getting 200 views per post, that made me realize that you have to find your right audience when it comes to doing content. Another struggle I endured was the fear of posting my content because I cared about what other people thought about me, but that’s one thing I feel like every content creator had to go through and got through it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do everything content related from acting, stand-up comedy, skits, and even a little bit of music.
How do you think about luck?
Luck?? I never had any luck on my side. It was always deliberate, practice and hard work over the years that I’ve been doing it.
