Today we’d like to introduce you to Hailey Knudsen.
Hi Hailey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up on a ranch as a sixth generation cowboy, so hard work and resilience have always been a part of who I am. My journey really started with my family’s story, my dad surviving being struck by lightning while holding me on my first birthday, and having to relearn life from scratch. My mom stepped in to run the ranch and take care of both of us. Watching my parents navigate that with so much faith and strength shaped everything about how I see the world. Growing up, I found my love for performing really early on. I started dancing at two years old, and by five, I had fallen in love with acting and singing. From that point on, I just knew storytelling was a part of who I was. Performing quickly became more than just a passion. I knew it was my calling and what I wanted to pursue.
Over time, I started sharing my family’s story and creating content that connects with people on a real level. As we began sharing our testimony, we saw something really powerful happen, other cowboys started opening up about their struggles too, many for the first time. That led us to start podcasting and using social media to give them a platform to share their stories, and it ultimately grew into us founding the Cowboy Entrepreneur Foundation. It’s been incredible to see how storytelling can break walls and bring healing in a community that doesn’t always talk about those things.
Today, I’m continuing to grow as an actor, creator, singer, and speaker. Everything I do really comes back to inspiring people, being authentic, and using my journey, both the highs and the hard moments, to make an impact.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Our life has been full of challenges, both individually and as a family. My dad has broken over 60 bones from rodeo over the years, and we’ve had our share of really serious moments, including when he was struck by lightning holding me on my first birthday, which caused him to lose his memory and have to relearn how to do basic things.
On top of that, I’ve faced my own physical struggles, including multiple knee surgeries and a knee replacement that nearly left me paralyzed. There have been a lot of moments that could have easily felt overwhelming or discouraging.
But what’s really shaped us is how we’ve chosen to respond to it. Instead of letting those challenges rip us apart, they’ve actually brought us closer together as a family. We’ve learned how to lean on each other, have faith through the hard seasons, and always try to spin something negative into something positive. That mindset has really become a big part of who I am, not just in life, but in everything I do creatively and professionally..
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an actor, producer, singer, dancer, dance instructor, and public speaker, and at the core of everything I do is storytelling. I specialize in bringing real meaningful stories to life, whether that’s through film, music, speaking on stage, or creating content that people can truly connect with on a deeper level.
I’m also really passionate about using my platform beyond just entertainment. My dad and I are business partners, Through our podcast, social media, and the Cowboy Entrepreneur Foundation, I help share real stories from the cowboy community, stories that often go unheard. That’s something I’m incredibly proud of, because I’ve seen firsthand how opening up and sharing struggles can inspire others to do the same and realize they’re not alone.
What sets me apart is that everything I do comes from a place of authenticity and lived experience. I didn’t just step into storytelling, I’ve lived the kind of stories I’m now telling. Growing up on a ranch, walking through the challenges my family has faced, and overcoming my own physical setbacks has given me a perspective that I bring into every role, every song, and every conversation.
I think people connect with that realness. I just want to be honest, to inspire, and to create something that actually means something to someone.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to never give up on what God has placed in your heart. There are always going to be people who doubt you or tell you that you can’t do something, but you can’t let those voices be louder than your purpose.
For me, it’s always been about reaching for the stars, even when it feels impossible and out of reach. I’ve learned that if you truly feel called to something, there’s a reason for that, and you owe it to yourself to chase it fully.
One thing that’s really shaped my journey is my family’s motto: “just say yes.” That’s honestly how we got into this whole crazy career. We didn’t let fear, doubt, or negativity hold us back, we said yes to opportunities, even when they felt scary or impossible. And time after time, those yeses led to growth, new doors, and experiences we never could have planned.
So I think it’s a balance of faith and action, trusting God, tuning out the noise, and having the courage to step forward anyway.
