Today we’d like to introduce you to Michele Brown.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started drinking coffee with my father as a little girl when I was about 5 or 6 years old. As I became an adult, I began to collect coffee mugs with cute sayings or mantras. During the early part of the pandemic, I decided I would make my own mug and that’s when I got the idea to start my own business customizing mugs. I fell in love with designing and creating each mug.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was challenging in the beginning. I reached out for help from people with expertise in some of the goals that I was trying to achieve and they either couldn’t help or never got back to me, leaving me to do it on my own. Once I established things that I could do on my own, the road became easier and easier for me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a 17-year flight attendant for a Major Airline based in Atlanta. I recently started my own business where I customize coffee and tea mugs. Whether it be your favorite scripture, mantra, or affirmation, my motto is ‘Every Mug has a story, so what’s yours?”
I am most proud that during a pandemic and suffering from depression, I was able to launch my business doing it solely by myself. What sets us apart, Every mug I create is made from LOVE. And you can also assist with the design process.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My resilience and determination. When I couldn’t find a way, I created one. I wanted to give up many times, but I was determined to see this business through.
