Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicol Karina Rodriguez Ortiz.
Hi Nicol Karina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story begins in Bogotá, Colombia, where I was raised by a strong single mother who taught me resilience, independence, and ambition. From a very young age, I was drawn to the arts—acting, dancing, singing—but life threw some emotional challenges my way that made me hold back, especially with music.
At 13, my mom signed me up for acting classes, and that opened a new world for me. But I always knew I was meant for more. Years later, I made a life-changing decision: I left everything behind and moved alone to the United States. I didn’t know the language, I had no safety net—but I had a vision.
It hasn’t been easy—I had to rebuild from scratch, learn a new culture, and overcome self-doubt—but I knew I was meant for something bigger.
Over time, I began merging all my passions: I became a singer-songwriter, actress, producer, and businesswoman. I use my voice not just to perform, but to tell my story and empower others—especially women—to love themselves, to heal, and to dream unapologetically. Everything I do now, from my music to my podcast and upcoming projects, is part of that bigger vision: to be light, to leave a legacy, and to prove that no matter where you start, your story can inspire millions.
Through years of growth, spiritual healing, and rebuilding myself emotionally and creatively, I became Katrina La Madrina. Now I share my sensuality, my power, and my truth through my music, my art, and my message. I’m here to help women feel powerful, to make people feel seen, and to remind everyone that your story—no matter how painful or chaotic—is your magic.
I’m not just building a career. I’m building a legacy.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all — my road has been anything but smooth. But every obstacle shaped who I am today.
Leaving my country and starting from zero in a place where I didn’t speak the language was terrifying. I had no family around, no guarantees — just faith, hustle, and a vision. I’ve dealt with financial struggles, heartbreak, emotional wounds from childhood, and moments where I felt completely alone.
There were times I doubted myself. Times I wanted to give up. But I realized that the pain was part of my preparation. I had to go through deep inner healing, learn to forgive, unlearn survival patterns, and step into my power—not just as an artist, but as a woman.
The most difficult part? Fighting my own mind. Rebuilding my self-worth. But I thank every dark moment, because it taught me how to shine from within. That’s why everything I do now—from my songs to my podcast to my businesses—comes from a place of truth, strength, and service.
I didn’t have it easy, but that’s what made my story worth telling.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a singer, songwriter, actress, and creative entrepreneur—but more than anything, I’m a storyteller. Through my music, my podcast “Lo Que Jamás Te Conté,” and my visual projects, I give voice to the emotions many people are afraid to speak about: heartbreak, rebirth, sensuality, healing, and power.
I specialize in turning pain into art, and stories into movements. I’ve created songs like “BNDY” and “NOT KNOCK” that empower women to walk away from what no longer serves them and stand tall in their worth. I also run production and event companies, and I’ve even launched an OnlyFans platform to take control of my sensual image and promote my music in a powerful way.
What sets me apart is that I’m not just chasing fame—I’m building legacy. My art is deeply emotional, spiritual, and intentional. I blend elegance with edge, and I always stay true to my roots, my intuition, and my truth.
I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve created everything from scratch. No team. No connections. Just a dream, faith in God, and the fire to inspire others—especially women—to believe they are enough, and that their story matters.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that everything begins within.
No matter how talented, beautiful, or ambitious you are—if you don’t heal your wounds, silence your inner critic, and truly believe in your worth, nothing external will ever feel like enough. I had to unlearn survival mode, face my childhood pain, and reconnect with my faith and purpose to truly grow—not just as an artist, but as a woman.
I also learned that rejection, delays, and detours aren’t signs to give up—they’re redirections. God doesn’t waste pain. Every heartbreak, every setback, every lonely night had a purpose in shaping me into the version of myself I was meant to become.
Now, I don’t chase validation. I chase alignment—with myself, with my calling, and with the impact I want to leave behind.
